Author's POV

Afternoon laziness found Lan Zhan deciding to spend quality time with his little Lan Sizhui by painting. He prepared a small easel for his son and provided him with a palette filled with paints in bright colors.

"Remember, A-Yuan," said Lan Zhan, "painting is about getting your feelings into the painting."

Lan Sizhui nodded seriously and his little brow furrowed as he dipped his brush into the paint. For some while, they painted on in comfortable silence while Lan Zhan occasionally glanced over to see what sort of masterpiece his son was creating.

When Lan Zhan finally turned to regard Lan Sizhui's canvas, he was surprised to find a very abstract painting that looked suspiciously like... him?

"A-Yuan, is that... me?" Lan Zhan asked with an amused hint in his tone.

Lan Sizhui's face lit up with pride as he looked up from his painting. "Yes, a-die! You said to paint what I feel and I feel you're the best father ever!"

Lan Zhan's heart melted at his son's words though his depiction came out with a rather large nose and holding a carrot.

"What is this?" Lan Zhan asked, gesturing at the carrot in the painting.

"Oh! That's because you're like a bunny too, a-die. Always calm and kind!" Lan Sizhui explained seriously.

Lan Zhan softly ruffled his son's hair. "I see. It's a special painting, A-Yuan. I'll treasure it."

"Aww they are so cute!"

Although others tried to suppress their laughter after seeing Sizhui painting.

Lan Wangji observed his son's painting with a mix of curiosity and mild surprise. His stoic expression softened as he considered the abstract image on the canvas. The thought that his young son might have subconsciously drawn him brought a warmth to his heart.

"It's giving me reincarnation vibes from the time when Wei-xiong draw his painting." Nie huaisang commented.

"Imagine if Wei wuxian ghost was possessing him? Damn creepy!" said one is the disciple.

Wei Wuxian's eyes lit up with amusement when Nie Huaisang and the disciple speculated about ghostly possession. He burst out laughing, waving his hand dismissively.

"Come on, Little radish got more talent in his little finger than I ever did with a brush!" He grinned, leaning closer to study the painting. "And besides, if I were possessing him, don't you think I'd make him paint something a little more... daring?" He winked at Lan Wangji.

"A-niang!" Lan Sizhui send a soft glare to his mother who just like, ╮(^▽^)╭.

Lan Xichen, who had been quietly observing the scene, couldn't help but smile at the interaction between his brother and nephew. "A-Yuan has captured something more important than accuracy," he said softly. "He's painted the bond he shares with his father, which is more beautiful than any detailed portrait."

Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow, he wasn't one for abstract art or whimsical interpretations, but he could recognise the significance of Lan Sizhui's effort. "At least the kid's trying to be creative," he remarked gruffly.
