“I think we should start with the bathrooms,” tsumugi suggested, her voice barely above a whisper. “If there’s something hidden there, it might lead us to the mastermind’s lair.”

Shuichi nodded, his face set in determination. “Let’s go.”

The bathrooms were cold and unwelcoming, the tiled walls slick with condensation.the boys bathroom Shuichi’s footsteps echoed ominously as he pushed open each stall, searching for anything out of the ordinary. In the girls bathroom Tsumugi was looking in there by herself.

But she paused, her fingers brushing against the wall. “Shuichi, over here. There’s something strange about this wall.” calling him to come.

Shuichi hurried over, his breath catching as he saw what she meant. The wall had a faint seam, almost invisible, but definitely there. It was a hidden door.

“Could this be…?” Shuichi murmured, his mind racing with the possibilities.

With a shared nod, they pressed against the wall, and slowly, it gave way, revealing a narrow, dark passageway. The air inside was musty, filled with the scent of damp earth and something else—something metallic, like old machinery.

“This feels… wrong,” Tsumugi said, her voice wavering. “Like we’re stepping into a place we were never meant to find.”

“We have to keep going,” Shuichi replied, though he shared her unease. “we can find something, I can feel it.”

As they descended, the air grew colder, the walls closing in around them until they reached a massive underground chamber. It was filled with strange, clanking machinery, all centered around a large, grotesque figure—Motherkuma.

“Welcome, my children,” Motherkuma’s voice boomed, its mechanical tones reverberating off the walls. “I am the mother of all Monokumas, the harbinger of despair!”

"Puhuhuuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu!"

Shuichi swallowed hard, his fists clenched at his sides. “This… this is the source of the Monokumas. If we destroy this, we can stop them from multiplying.”

" Ah, please don't do that!"

Tsumugi stepped forward, her expression unreadable. “But it’s not just about destroying it. We need to understand how it’s all connected. What’s the real purpose behind this machine?”

" You will never end the killing game!"

"Why?"

" Because the killing game never ends! Puhuhuuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu!"

As they moved closer to the machinery, a sudden wave of memories washed over Shuichi—fragments of a past life, of a time before the killing game. He saw flashes of a world ravaged by a deadly virus, of people being chosen to escape to space, to survive where others couldn’t. He saw himself among them, not as the Ultimate Detective, but as someone who had been selected for reasons he couldn’t fully comprehend.

“We were… we were chosen to survive,” Shuichi whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “But why? And why were we brought back here?”

Tsumugi placed a hand on his shoulder, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and understanding. “This game… it’s too cruel.."

Shuichi shook his head, the weight of the revelation threatening to overwhelm him. “We have to keep moving. There’s more to uncover.”

" Of course!"

As Shuichi and Tsumugi delved deeper into the mastermind’s lair, Gonta had made his way to the second floor, his heart heavy with the responsibility of finding something—anything—that could help them.
