We had a 15-minute timer to create our teams and strategize. Everyone avoided Midoriya like he was the plague. That made me feel bad for the green-haired boy. I walked over to him and saw Ochaco already there. "Hey, you two!" I greeted happily. "Need another teammate?"
Midoriya looked at me with stars in his eyes, but Ochaco hesitated. "N/n, don't take this the wrong way, I love you a lot, but I want to win something without your help." Her voice was soft and she hesitated on her words. "You've always been better than me and I want to... I need to beat you, just this once."
I looked at her shocked, my heart felt heavy as I looked at her big brown eyes. I silently sighed and wrapped her in a hug. "I believe in you. You're so strong, Ocha. You got this, kay?" I smiled at her and she nodded. I looked at Midoriya, who looked at us sadly. "Good luck, you two!" Midoriya nodded and I walked away. By the time I walked away, everyone else in my class already had a team with strategies. I looked around, slightly dejected. 'Is it too late to withdraw?'
"Hey! You're Y/N Toyomitsu, right?" A girl behind me asked. I turned around and saw a girl with bright orange hair tied in a ponytail. Her eyes were bright teal and overall, she had a friendly appearance.
"Yeah! Nice to meet you..." I replied and prompted her to tell me her name.
"Itsuka Kendo. I'm in a team of three right now, and I couldn't help but notice you're alone. We're looking for a rider, so if you're willing and in need of a team," She smiled at me.
With stars in my eyes, I grabbed her shoulders tightly and shook her. "You mean it!? Oh, you'd really take a chance on this pitiful class A student, you angel!" I could be a little dramatic at times, what can I say?
She looked at me a little taken aback before nodding, "Yeah! C'mon, I'll bring you to my teammates!" I smiled excitedly and let her grab my wrist to drag me. I looked around and saw Bakugo approaching me, but he disappeared. Like, actually. He just... vanished? I blinked in that direction before turning back to Kendo.
She led me to two other girls. One of them had medium-length dark green hair and eyes, her teeth were sharp and she smiled at me brightly. The other girl had short grey hair and long bangs that covered her left eye. "You got her?" The green-haired one asked. Kendo nodded. "Hi, I'm Setsuna Tokage."
"Reiko Yanagi," the other girl introduced.
"Hello! It's super nice to meet you both," I said happily. I bowed my head. "Thank you so much for inviting me to your team, I appreciate it."
Kendo smiled, "It's no problem, I wanted to do you a favor after you helped Rin out in the last round."
"You're so sweet! Thank you so much!" I smiled widely. "Can you guys tell me your quirks?" I sheepishly rubbed the back of my head. "I never got to learn about the other classes..."
"Well, I can change the size of my fist," Kendo said. She demonstrated and made her fist twice the size of her body. 'Short and to the point. She trusts in her abilities and I can tell she's kind. A good friend too, seeing as she wanted to 'pay me back' for helping Rin.' I nodded and turned to Tokage.
"I can split my body into pieces and control how they move," Tokage said proudly. She had a confident smile on her face as she stood with her hands on her hips. "Cool, right?" I nodded enthusiastically. 'Confident, not boastful like Bakugo. Trusts in herself and is not the type to hesitate.'
"I can control and levitate objects around me telekinetically," Yanagi explained. She was closed off and quiet with a hint of shyness in her voice. But overall, she looked stoic. 'Quiet. She won't be brash and will likely hesitate.'
