The bustling city below was a blur of lights and movement, a constant reminder of the heroes who protected it. Hina, a girl of twelve with a heart full of contradictions, sat alone on the rooftop, her gaze fixed on the cityscape. She was a shadow, a whisper in the wind, a girl who walked a tightrope between two worlds.
"Hina, you're here again?" a voice, gruff yet familiar, interrupted her contemplation.
The man who called himself her master stood beside her, his presence a stark contrast to the city's vibrant energy. Hina didn't bother to look at him, her gaze still fixed on the distant lights.
"I don't like your ways, master," she replied, her voice barely a murmur.
"How so?" he asked, settling down beside her, his gaze unwavering.
"You let Tomura do whatever he wants," she said, her voice laced with a hint of frustration. "It's fine, but don't you think it's going too far?"
He looked at her, a flicker of confusion crossing his face. Hina sighed, her shoulders slumping with a weariness that belied her young age.
"I'm grateful that you took me in, I truly am," she said, her voice softening. "But I personally don't agree with your methods, letting Tomura hurt people."
She stood up, her back straight, her gaze unwavering.
"Then why don't you stop him?" he challenged, his voice laced with a hint of amusement.
"Because I can't, even if I want to," she replied, her voice filled with a quiet despair. "I still can't."
"You can't stop him yet, so let him," he said, his voice a low rumble.
"Hey, master," Hina asked, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Are you going to punish me if I said I want to be a hero?"
He looked at her, his gaze sharp and piercing. "That's interesting...However, can you do it? Can you stop me? Do you have the strength to?"
He stood up, his aura radiating with raw power, a palpable force that seemed to crackle in the air.
"You're already defeated by All Might, and you're weakened," Hina countered, her voice steady and unwavering. "Yet I can't defeat you. Even so, I want to be a hero, to save people, to see those lovely smiles."
"And I want to atone for my sins," she added, her voice quieter, her gaze drifting towards the sky.
"Your sins?" he asked, his voice a low rumble.
Hina turned to him, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Someday, I'm going to be a hero to stop Tomura, even if he becomes a villain," she declared, her voice filled with a quiet determination. "I'm going to grow stronger so that I can beat you and Tomura."
"I'll be waiting," her master replied, his voice a low chuckle as he patted her head.
Hidden behind a massive structure, Tomura listened, his face contorted into a grotesque grin. He had heard every word, every whispered secret, every unspoken desire.
"I won't be beaten by you, Hina," he hissed, his voice laced with a venomous hatred.
Four years later, the city had changed, but Hina's determination had only grown stronger. She was sixteen now, a young woman with a fire in her heart. She had just finished breakfast, her stomach full, her mind filled with the anticipation of a new chapter in her life.
Tomura, his face twisted into a sneer, tossed a key at her. "We're going to be real enemies once you enter that school," he said, his voice dripping with malice.
