The U.A. Sports Festival preliminaries kicked off with a bang, the announcer, Present Mic, booming, "The Festival's Obstacle Race, a grueling four kilometers around the stadium, has begun!"  Eraser Head, still sporting bandages from the recent villain attack, stood beside him, a silent but watchful presence.
The race began with a chaotic scramble as all the participants jostled to exit the stadium door.  The narrow corridor became a bottleneck, a mob of students pushing and shoving.  Shoto Todoroki, recognizing the opportunity, swiftly froze the pathway, creating a clear path ahead.
Despite the icy obstacle, Katsuki, Momo, Yuga, Hina, and Eijiro managed to avoid the ice, clinging to Shoto’s back.  Many other students remained close behind, and Shoto was surprised to see so many had managed to avoid his attack.  Minoru, determined to reach Shoto, attempted to attack him, but was knocked away by a villain bot.
Suddenly, a wave of villain bots materialized, blocking the path of the participants.  The second obstacle was in full force.  Some of the villain bots were the Zero-point robots from the U.A. Entrance Exams, causing many students to panic.  But Shoto remained calm, his gaze unwavering.  He expressed his desire to face a more difficult obstacle and proceeded to freeze an entire giant villain bot solid with ease.  Shoto immobilized the giant robot, sending it off balance, and ran underneath it before it fell into the path of the remaining students.
Katsuki, not one to be outdone, attacked the villain bot head-on, using his Quirk to explode it.  Hina, with a swift movement, used her magic to reshape the villain bot’s feet, causing it to topple over.  Before continuing to run, she used her magic to create a weapon of her own, a gleaming blade of pure energy.
The next obstacle was The Fall: a canyon that could only be navigated by walking along tightropes.  Shoto was the first to clear the fall, but Katsuki was quickly closing the distance between them.
Mei Hatsume, a student from the Support Course, decided to make herself known by showing off all the gear she had developed prior to the Sports Festival.  Mei explained that students in the Support Course could use their equipment to level the playing field with students in the Hero Course.  She proceeded to utilize her gadgets and cross the fall, leaving Mina and Ochaco behind.
To cross the canyon, Hina used her magic to reshape the ground, forming a bridge.  She quickly passed that obstacle and destroyed it, causing some of the students to fall.
The final obstacle: The Mine Field.  Shoto had to trek carefully through the field and was eventually caught up to by Katsuki, who was still using his Quirk to fly through the air.  He caught up to Shoto and tried to blast him with an explosion.
Meanwhile, Hina used her magic to increase her speed, jumping from one mine to another without getting caught up in the explosions.  Then, she noticed Izuku doing something, which she ignored and continued going forward.
She was getting closer to Shoto and Katsuki when suddenly, Izuku, protecting himself with a metal shard, jumped onto the mines.  The explosion propelled him ahead of Katsuki and Shoto, surprising everyone.
Katsuki and Shoto quickly caught up as Izuku started to lose momentum.  However, before he landed, Izuku placed himself on both of their backs and detonated the mines in front of them by striking the metal shard on the ground.
This explosion launched Izuku past his competition, allowing him to run to cross the finish line, placing first.
A/N:  Forgive me, but laziness got the better of me, so I’m not going to write the second part of the festival.  But the plan was to let Shinso manipulate Hina, but with her magic, it wouldn’t work, but she would let it be.  Hina earned a place in the 1v1 and didn’t plan to back down.
The 1v1 Matches:
- Izuku Midoriya vs. Hitoshi Shinso
- Shoto Todoroki vs. Hanta Sero
- Ibara Shiozaki vs. Hina Belserion
- Tenya Ida vs. Mei Hatsume
- Mina Ashido vs. Yuga Aoyama
- Fumikage Tokoyami vs. Momo Yaoyorozu
- Eijiro Kirishima vs. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu
- Katsuki Bakugo vs. Ochaco Uraraka
Izuku took the stage to battle Hitoshi.  However, Hitoshi taunted Izuku about Mashirao and got him to talk, activating his Brainwashing Quirk.  The crowd watched in horror as Izuku stood immobile in the middle of the ring.  Hitoshi watched in dismay and tried to get Izuku to talk to him again.  Izuku took a moment to ponder how he activated One For All but put it aside to finish the fight.  Hitoshi realized that Mashirao had warned Izuku beforehand, as Izuku refused to talk.  He continued to try and force a reaction out of Izuku but to no avail.  Izuku continued to fight and tried to push him out of bounds.  Hitoshi punched him in the face and at his broken fingers to break his hold. He tried to push Izuku out of bounds, but the latter countered with a shoulder throw that sent Hitoshi out of bounds.
The next battle between Hanta Sero and Shoto began immediately.  Hanta started off strong and nearly threw Shoto out of the ring, but the latter took out his aforementioned anger by freezing Hanta in a giant ice prison.  Everyone watched in disbelief of Shoto’s power, and then Midnight confirmed that Hanta was immobilized, giving Shoto the win.
The next battle was Ibara Shiozaki against Hina Belserion.  Ibara started the battle with her Vines Quirk and ensnared Hina, immobilizing her.  “It’s over,” Ibara stated, looking at Hina, who was glaring at her.  “You think?” Hina smirked, which made Ibara wonder.  She tried to respond, but before she could, her Vines turned against her, tying her up as Hina fell to the ground, holding Ibara’s vines in her hand.  After she used her magic to reshape the ground to roll Ibara out of bounds.
The fourth match was supposed to begin next, but Tenya equipped support gear, and Midnight scolded him for it.  He pleaded for her to allow it because Mei had offered him the equipment in order to keep the match fair.  Aroused by Tenya’s sportsmanship, Midnight allowed him to wear the equipment, and the “battle” began.  During the course of the match, Mei used the opportunity to advertise her support items instead of actually fighting.  After ten minutes of cat and mouse, Mei left the ring and apologized for tricking Tenya, who was deeply upset that she turned their match into a commercial for her support items.
Mina Ashido and Yuga Aoyama dueled in the fifth contest.  Yuga rapidly fired his beam at Mina, but she slid swiftly across the ring to evade his lasers using her acid Quirk.  Yuga got a stomach ache after shooting off a large beam, and Mina used this opening to melt Yuga’s belt and uppercut him.  Yuga was knocked unconscious, and Mina moved on to the next round.

Bakugou ended up winning the match, feeling frustrated.  Shoto went second place with Hina and Fumikage in third place.
