Previous chapter
Perth pulled into the driveway, and for the first time he saw Ohm breaking in front of him.
As the car came to a stop, Ohm gently shifted Nanon in his arms, preparing to carry him inside. But before he opened the door, he paused, taking one last moment to look at the man who had changed him, who had unknowingly stolen his heart.
"I love you," Ohm whispered again, his voice full of sorrow. "I love you more than anything. I'm sorry that it took losing you to realize it."
With that, he opened the car door, stepping out into the cold night with Nanon cradled tightly in his arms.
The hospital lights illuminated his tear-streaked face as he walked inside, hoping that somehow, amid all this chaos, he hadn't lost the one person who made him feel like he could still be human.
But in his heart, Ohm knew that things would never be the same.

A few weeks had passed since the incident, and Nanon had returned to his daily routine at the clinic. However, he wasn't the same person anymore.
The lively, compassionate doctor who treated everyone equally had become someone else entirely...someone cold and distant, driven by an anger that festered beneath the surface. His smile was gone, replaced by a blank, lifeless expression.
Chimon had been observing Nanon for days now, noticing the drastic change. Ever since the ordeal with Ohm, Nanon had transformed into a shell of his former self.
He went through the motions, mechanically treating patients, but his heart wasn't in it anymore. He was like a lifeless doll, moving but not living.
It was another day at the hospital, and Nanon was working in the clinic, his face a mask of detachment as he treated patients. But then, a man stumbled in, blood dripping from a knife wound.
"Sir, just missed it! Otherwise, I would have been stabbed," the patient said with a shaky laugh, seemingly relieved he had made it to the clinic.
Nanon's eyes, which had been void of emotion moments ago, darkened. He glared at the man, anger surging through him. Without warning, Nanon grabbed him by the arm and shoved him toward the door.
"Get out of here!" Nanon shouted, his voice filled with venom.
"Sir! Please, I need help—" the man stammered, confused by Nanon's hostility.
"I said go away! I won't treat criminals like you!" Nanon's voice rose with fury, his face twisted with anger.
The patient, wide-eyed and terrified, stumbled back toward the door, confused and frightened. "But, sir—"
"Leave!" Nanon barked, his voice shaking with anger.
The man ran from the clinic, terrified of the doctor who had once been known for his kindness.
Chimon, who had been watching from the corner, rushed forward and grabbed Nanon's arm, pulling him back.
"What the hell are you doing, Nanon? Why are you sending patients away like that? They need help!"
Nanon shook his head, pulling away from Chimon's grip, his expression cold. "No, they're not patients. They're monsters. Thieves, criminals... if I treat them, they just go back to their lives and continue hurting others. And then they come back, expecting me to fix them again and again."
Chimon's brows furrowed as he looked at Nanon in disbelief. This wasn't the man he knew.
"Nanon, they're still human. It's your job to help them, no matter who they are."
