Chapter 6

It was a hot summer day, Lauren invited me to chill at Zach's place. He has a pool, a pool bar, a jacuzzi, fully functional air conditioned rooms, game room, a personal gym and basically everything teenagers dream to have they've got it. So Lance and I, well I had to bring him because my parents forced me to, so we walk over there and Zach gladly invites us inside.

We quickly walk towards the backyard where a couple of our friends also came by to chill. I see Lauren talking to one of her cheerleaders and I wave from afar and she waves back. Then a bunch of girls swarmed over Lance (he's probably liking that moment) but he grabs my arm gesturing me to save him. Oh dear god, this is a bad idea.

I pull him out and explain to the ladies, "Guys, just please don't post anything about Lance being here. You know how these divas get when people swarm them." I joked and laughed which made Lance mad. In the end, the girls did listen and gave him some space but Lance was giving me mean looks. Then they pull Lance to one of the lounge chairs and passed him a guitar. At first he was awkward about it but then as he played he just didn't mind anymore. Typical.

But out of all the people there, I see no sign of Kyle. It's been weeks since we've hung out. We see each other but when I see him he's always busy. We text but we don't call or FaceTime or Skype anymore. We don't even talk through our windows since that day. Maybe he was still mad at me for being such a drama queen. Sigh, I do kinda miss him and I am sorry for being such a mess.

Then Lauren comes up to me and gives me a drink, "What's up?" She asked. "You look like you're in deep thought instead of socializing." She said. Don't you think by now you already know that I'm not big on socializing? "And you do kinda look like you haven't gone out of the house." She added. "Because I haven't. I just kept on binge watching Friends on Netflix." I replied sadly. "Ugh I knew I should have came over yesterday and the day before that." She said but I still kept quiet.

I take a sip of the drink, "Have you heard anything from Jake yet?" She asked. I look at her with a pale expression, "You know your boyfriend is right there, right?" I said pointing at Zach who was about to dive in the pool. "I know, I just wanted to talk to you about it because maybe your sad because you miss him or something, I don't know." She said. Okay, Lauren I believe you... not!

"I do miss him but I'm not sad about it. Maybe you should ask me why I'm sad because I've been keeping it inside me and I'm gonna explode if I don't tell anyone about it!" I raised my voice. "Woah chill out!" Lauren said trying to calm me down.

"Why are you sad?" A voice behind me asked. I see Lauren's facial expression as she holds her smile and I slowly turn around then I see Kyle.

"Why are you sad, Em?" Kyle asked. "You know why." I replied. "I'm afraid I don't." He said. "Say it." He commanded. I look around and people were starting to stare. "Okay people nothing to see here." Lauren got their attention and diverted it else where. Thank god for Lauren! But I could still feel people watching us and murmuring to each other. I bet they were wondering what was this all about. No one really knew we were together-together except for Lauren, Zach and Jake. And I guess because of this, everyone just found out. But maybe not, since the things we were saying weren't really telling you know? Plus right now, we don't know exactly what we are.

"I'm sorry that I overreacted. I'm sorry that I was being so sensitive about that topic. I miss you and I have to go." I said and stormed out of Zach's house.

I ran to my house, asked my mom if I could drive her car then opened the garage. I started the car and hit the pavement. As I u-turned, I see Kyle, Lauren and Lance go to the driveway. And as Lance daw me he quickly ran towards the car and hopped in and we got out of there as fast as possible.
