❄️Author's POV❄️

Ashwin had always found solace in nature.... The peaceful whispers of the trees the gentle ripples of the water and the sweet melodies of birds seemed to ease the storm that often brewed inside him....

This particular weekend he decided to escape the city's chaos and retreat to a quaint little cabin by the pond....

It was a hidden gem he had discovered during one of his solo road trips...

Ashwin stepped out onto the balcony of the pink cabin taking a deep breath of the fresh air....

The cabin stood like a guardian over the pond its reflection rippling gently in the water.....

Ashwin looked over at the gazebo on the other side and with a cup of coffee in hand he made his way down the wooden steps of the cabin and followed the narrow path that led to the gazebo....

As he approached the place he noticed something that he hadn't seen before....

A cute little young girl was sitting at the edge of the pond almost blending into the natural beauty around her.....

She wore a deliacte peach colored kurthi with her dupatta fluttering softly in the gentle breeze.....

Ashwin paused for a moment not wanting to intrude on her peace.... She seemed so lost in her thoughts with her gaze fixed on the water....

He found himself drawn to her as if the peace that radiated from her was something he desperately needed.....

Finally after a long internal debate he cleared his throat softly not wanting to startle her....

Ashwin : Mind if I join you....

He asked with his voice manly yet warm....

She turned her head slowly taking away Ashwin's breath... he was totally mesmerized by how beautiful her eyes were...

Sivaangi : Hey.... not at all... Its a free world.....

She said with a small smile and shifted a little making space for him making Ashwin chuckle at her response....

He then settled down beside her and they sat in comfortable silence....

Ashwin : I am Ashwin...

He said finally extending a hand while she joining her hands with his for a gentle shake and said....

Sivaangi : Sivaangi....

Ashwin : Do you come here often???

Ashwin asked and he wasn't sure why but he felt a strange need to keep the conversation going.... he felt like he wanted to learn more about this mysterious woman who had so effortlessly captured his attention.....

Sivaangi : First time.....

she said with her gaze shifting back to the pond.....

Sivaangi : I needed a break from the city..... and found this place and thought this might be a good place to clear my head....

Ashwin nodded understanding it too well as he too had the same urge to get away from the chaos....

Ashwin : Same here..... This place... it has a way of making me forget about everything else....

Sivaangi smiled at his words and her smile was a very soft one that stirred something inside Ashwin.....

Sivaangi : Yeah... it does... Its like... like time moves slower here or maybe it just doesn't matter at all....

Nodding their head they fell into silence but it wasn't any awkward one... Instead it was the kind of silence that only exists between two people who are comfortable in each other's presence....

Even though they have just met Ashwin found himself relaxing more than he had in a long time.... the usual tension in his shoulders easing as he allowed himself to simply be in the moment......

After what felt like hours but was likely only a few minutes Sivaangi spoke again....

Sivaangi : Isn't this place beautiful.....

She said with her voice soft which was almost as if she was speaking to herself......

Ashwin followed her gaze to the pond which was calm and clear....
The pond was surrounded by greenery and flowers.....

Water lilies floated near the edges with their petals delicate which added more beauty to the whole place....

The whole scene was peaceful and felt like a perfect escape from the world....

He replied after a moment.....

Ashwin : Truly it is....

Sivaangi turned to Ashwin with a smile that reached her eyes and he reciprocated it and just like that they both fell into slinces....

And as the afternoon sun began to dip lower in the sky.... the pond was covered with a warm golden hue which made the pond look even more beautiful....

They spent the rest of the day together talking randomly.....

Ashwin realized that he didn't want this day to end... There was something about Sivaangi that made him feel alive... he felt like he wanted to hold onto this moment for as long as possible.....

But all good things must come to an end and in the same way this too comes to an end....

Sivaangi stood up and she said brushing off her clothes....

Sivaangi : I should head back....

She said softly almost regretful while Ashwin stood as well not wanting her to leave but knowing he couldn't do so he said...

Ashwin : Yeah... me too....

They walked back to the path together the silence between them now tinged with a bittersweet feeling....

When they reached the point where they would have to part ways Sivaangi turned to Ashwin with a small smile and said...

Sivaangi : Maybe we will see each other again...

Her voice was so hopeful which made him nod his head with a smile tugging at his lips....

Ashwin : Hopefully.....

With a final smile Sivaangi turned and walked away.... while Ashwin watched her go until her figure disappeared from his sight.... he had this strange sense of longing filling him.....

He didn't know if he would see her again but he knew one thing for sure is that this day this moment would stay with him forever......
