Bayville High School. The bell rang and students began to move on to their next class. Evan was still sitting, looking at the grade he'd earned for his assignment. Deker approached him.

"What's got you down?"

"Don't you see what I got on that paper? I got a D." Said Evan, showing him his paper.

"Okay, and? Last time I checked, getting a D was always a passing grade."

"Of course you're saying that. What grade did you get?" Evan teased.

"I got a B. But I guess with the memory I've gained with my powers, it's almost cheating... But you should have seen my grades before I found Charles and Logan. I was quite happy to get a D back then." Deker relativized as he walked away.

"Yeah, see you later, man." He said to Deker before looking at his paper again. "Man, Professor Xavier's gonna ground me for the rest of my life."

"Mr. Daniels, could I see you? I gave you an assignment on the Star Wars project. But I wasn't thinking about the movie." Explained his teacher, Mr. Vandermeer.

"But I like movies."

"That's fine. But I asked for a report on the national space defense system." Explained Mr. Vandermeer.

"Yeah... I figured that out when I saw my grade. Is there anything I can do to make up for it? Extra points? Anything?" Evan begged.

"Hmm... Maybe there is something." Said Mr. Vandermeer, he then opened a drawer in his desk and grabbed a camera.

"Wow, a digital camera. That's cool." Said Evan.

"You know, Evan, current events can mean a lot of things, including things that are important to people your age. They don't have to be huge, they just have to mean a lot to you. Would you like to do a story about this?" Mr. Vandermeer offered.

"Really?"

"You've got it. Here." Said Mr. Vandermeer as he handed the camera to Evan and took it. "The project is due at the end of the week. I suggest you get started."

"Hey, I'm on it. And thanks for the second chance, Mr. V." Said Evan as he exits the classroom and heads out into the hallway and starts looking at the camera. "Cool! Instant return, digital zoom."

He began looking through an open window with the camera and sees the institute where the X-Men live.

"Hey, I can even see the institute through this thing." He said, zooming in to see Logan coming up to the door on his motorcycle. He zooms in even more and can now see Logan taking off his helmet. "Hi, Logan."

"Evan!" Said Kurt suddenly, who was clinging to the window outside, grabbing Evan by his shirt.

Evan pulled his spikes out of his arm before realizing it was Kurt.

"Dude, don't scare me like that. You almost got pierced." Said he, putting away his spikes.

"Sorry. My watch is on the fritz. I've got to get back to the institute before someone sees me. That means I'll miss class." Kurt explained.

"No problem, I'll record it for you. I'll record it for you." Evan suggested.

"Cool! I'll be off then." Kurt said before teleporting away.

But it turned out that Sabertooth, standing atop a water tower, was watching Evan and Kurt chat through a pair of binoculars. He grunted and jumped off the water tower.

Evan played with the camera, then began recording the hallway.
