Sapphire POV:

Upon reaching the pack house, we immediately went upstairs to the third floor where the office of the King and Queen was situated. Once we arrive, the familiar guards immediately stand by the entrance. I said, "Cecil and Benson, the King has called for us this evening. As we were about to enter, the guard blocked Mileena, causing Jedidiah and I to come to a halt.

Jedidiah questions, "What is the significance of this?"

"The King has commanded that she wait outside and therefore cannot enter."

"Seriously?" The guards responded by nodding.

"No need to worry, mom," Mileena says. "I'll be okay waiting out here."

As we entered the office, we noticed angry parents with their children. The looks they were giving us confirmed that it was about Mileena. I remained unfazed and unthreatened. Proudly, I stood my ground, refusing to back down. Being a head warrior runs in my blood, I'm accustomed to it. One thing you learn is to constantly be in and out of the battle.

"Your majesties," Jedidiah says as we both bow to them.

"Good evening, Jedidiah and Sapphire. You're probably wondering why we summoned you, and I'll tell you. Let me cut to the chase, your daughter was involved in a fight with some kids at school. "The situation has upset the parents," reports The King.

I understand, but can you tell me what the kids did to make Mileena react? Mileena doesn't fight without purpose. "Unless the three of you were constantly bullying her," I said, making eye contact with each child.

"Sapphire, stop with your nonsense. My daughter is innocent. Is your child cursed?"

"Megan, if you dare to call my child a curse again, I will rip your fuck throat out," I says growled.

Megan responded with a growl, saying "The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree."

The King's shout of "SILENCE" leads us to lower our heads in submission.

"We must resolve this matter; we won't tolerate such behavior from either party," declared the Queen.

"According to some students at the school, Mileena was accused of starting the fight. Apologizing would be the best choice for her." Queen stated.

"Why should Mileena be blamed when she was the one being bullied?"

"Sapphire, do you possess any evidence to support this?" the King questions.

"Your majesties, I believe you are aware that Mileena has been enduring bullying for a considerable period, yet no action has been taken. After she defended herself, do you expect her to apologize? It seems unfair for you to give that order, even for you."

"Sapphire, you have stepped over the line. Apologize to the King," Jedidiah demanded.

Jedidiah, please comprehend that I'm solely speaking on behalf of Mileena. Our daughter has experienced so many hardships, all she wants is to lead a regular life."

"Sapphire, there are certain guidelines that need to be followed, in order to stay in the pack. Mileena needs to learn that she cannot be going about picking fights," The queen says.

"That's what they're calling it?Only Mileena is being held accountable for what she did. How about we publicly expose every kid who has bullied her throughout the years? I constantly witness my daughter being called an abomination and a curse. She didn't receive any help as no one stood up for her. It all began when she changed into her white Lycan form. We were kept at a distance by everyone, your majesties, including you. The story doesn't stop there; we went from being the leaders to getting demoted unexpectedly. Mileena thinks that she is to blame for everything that happens to us. She reached a point where she shut down and fell into depression. Can you describe how it feels, your highness?"

"I am unable to disclose-"

"That's because you don't. Your duty as the leader is to ensure the protection of your people, which is why you're their king. Throughout the years, I've observed your repeated failures. From my perspective, you only defend those you truly value, and it appears that our daughter is not one of them. Despite the pain, I have to say this right now. We're saying goodbye to this pack, as we won't be part of it anymore. Come on, Jedidiah, let's go."I stated, as I turned and headed towards the door. Not hearing any footsteps behind me, I glanced around and noticed that Jedidiah hadn't moved from where he was.

"Jedidiah, why aren't you joining us?"

"Sapphire, let's stay here. There's no need to go anywhere, things will be better. If Mileena apologizes for her actions, we can put this behind us."

"I anticipated this behavior from the King, but I never imagined that you would sink to such depths. You witnessed what they made Mileena endure. Do you really expect to act humble and pretend like nothing happened years ago?"

"Sapphire, if Mileena complies with the King's wishes, there may be a chance for us to regain our jobs."

"Jedidiah, is your position more important to you than our daughter's wellbeing? Our daughter won't apologize for standing up for herself, and we're leaving. Will you join us or not?" I'm asking, hoping for a positive response.

"No, Sapphire, I'm not leaving," were the words that completely upended my world. Although I love you, I am unable to give up so much as you request."

"It's disheartening to witness your true self now. I hope choosing your pride over your family was worth it. Mileena was waiting for me in the hallway, tears in her eyes. She must have overheard everything that was said in the room. How did she manage to hear it all? The office had soundproofing.

"Mileena, we need to start packing right away."

Mileena gave a nod as we walked away.
