Mileena POV:

In the hallway, I anxiously paced, curious about what they were discussing inside. My mind was wandering, but then I suddenly caught up with the conversation. It seemed impossible since everyone knew the King's office was soundproof, yet I managed to hear it. The words my father uttered were so shocking that I couldn't even comprehend them - he actually suggested that I apologize instead of standing up for myself.

Was I ever important to him? I went through a lot of pain while growing up, bearing it on my own without my parents being aware. Why am I contemplating becoming a cursed Lycan? I didn't choose to be a white one, it was the moon goddess who decided it. I'm a girl who simply wanted to find her place in this world. The feeling of being unwanted is something I despise.

When the door opened, my mother emerged and noticed the tears in my eyes, which puzzled her. She mentioned that we're going, and I nodded to walk with her, but I couldn't help but notice that my father wasn't there. He made it clear that he was on the king's side, and the entire pack I remained silent. We walked in silence for the rest of the way, arriving at the house without uttering a single word. I went upstairs to my room and continued to sob uncontrollably.

I sat there for who knows how long until there was a knock on the door. As the door opened, I saw my mother standing there with a face full of tears. I know it must have been painful to be betrayed by your mate, the person you thought would always be there for you. I never thought my father would give me up to those who see me as an abomination, and most importantly, as a threat to the pack. We were a united team, standing strong through thick and thin. It's unbelievable how my father has chosen to betray his family just to save his reputation, what a ass hole.

"Mileena, it's time to pack our things because we're not staying here anymore."

"Is it because of father, mother?"

" Part of it, I can't continue to just stand around and witness these people mistreating you for something that wasn't your fault."

"Mother, it hasn't been too terrible, don't worry."

"Mileena Norie Hollands, you may have deceived others, but you cannot deceive me. A mother can tell when her child is in pain just by looking at her face. "Mileena, I saw what you did when you thought no one was watching. I always hoped you would come to us and confess, but you never did."

"I chose not to trouble you or dad with my problems, as you both were already dealing with enough due to me."

"Mileena, being a mother is my primary responsibility. I encourage you to come to me with anything you need to share, no matter the subject."

"Okay, when is our departure?"

"Tomorrow morning, don't worry, your father won't be returning home tonight. It'll make things easier for us. We need to run, so pack lightly."

"Can we not take the car when we go?"

"Unfortunately, the majesties informed us that the car, which they gave us as a gift, cannot be taken with us."

"That bullshit, to think I used to look up to them assholes."

"Mileena, don't stress too much. The sooner we leave, the better for us."

"Alright, I'll begin now."

"When you're finished, take some rest because you'll need your energy."

"Ok Mother, Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Mileena," my mother said as she exited my room.

At 6 a.m., we woke up and I went through my typical morning routine before getting dressed. I didn't bother looking back when I left my room; no need for sad memories in my heart. When I went downstairs and entered the kitchen, I noticed that my mother had already prepared a plate of food for me. I sat down and had my meal. We ate without a word, both deeply hurt by my father's betrayal, especially me.

We left the house and went straight to the border, which took us approximately ten minutes. Before crossing over, we stood still and unexpectedly spoke words we never imagined saying.

"I, Sapphire Holland, have completely severed all connections with the Nightingale pack."

"I, Mileena Holland, have completely severed all connections with the Nightingale pack."

The moment the ties were severed, we crossed over and became officially rogues. Sadly, my father didn't even show up to bid us goodbye or attempt to persuade us to stay. I no longer have a father, he is dead to me from now on.

"Mileena, let's shift into wolves and depart quickly to avoid running into the rogues."

In less than a minute, I nodded and changed into a white wolf, while my mother transformed into a grey wolf. Then, we clenched our bags in our mouths and sprinted away without glancing back.
