It is the 1st of September, 1939

It is the 1st of September, 1939. Germans have invaded Poland and the United Kingdom. Two days later, France declares war on Germany.

It is the 22nd of September, 1940. Japan invades French Indochina. Five days later, they form an alliance with Germany and Italy.

It is the 7th of December, 1941. Japan bombs Pearl Harbor in the United States. One day later, the United States enters the war.

It is the 9th of December, 1941. A pilot is asked to evacuate some schoolboys for their safety. He accepts.

It is the 10th of December, 1941. The evacuation is scheduled for the 2nd of March.

It is the 2nd of February. One more month.

It is the 14th of February. Many kids, not knowing how their lives will change, get into bed without knowing what will lie ahead of them.

It is the 25th of February. One girl does not know she will meet one boy yet, feeling her heart flutter. One boy does not know he will meet one girl yet, having a reason to hold on.

It is the 2nd of March, 6:30 am. The pilot's daughter boards the plane alongside the group of schoolboys and choirboys, clad in pressed uniforms and black cloaks.

It is the 2nd of March, 11:45 am. A sudden explosion rocks the plane. A couple screams emit from the little ones. The plane is knocked off-course and into the Pacific Ocean.

It is the 2nd of March, 11:50 am. The plane crashes on a remote island, shrapnel and debris littering the land, flames licking the plane with its fiery tongues. The pilot is dead. This is where our story begins.
