Enid woke up to the soft light of dawn filtering through her bedroom curtains. She stretched, feeling the anticipation of the day ahead buzz through her veins. Today was the day she would have breakfast with Wednesday Addams in her own apartment. The thought made her heart skip a beat with excitement and a hint of nerves.

The sound of clinking dishes and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted from the kitchen. Enid smiled, knowing that Yoko was already up and about. She slipped out of bed, pulling on a cozy sweater before padding barefoot to the kitchen.

She found Yoko buzzing around, her energy palpable even in the early morning. "Good morning," Enid greeted with a yawn.

Yoko turned, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Morning! So, how was the airport meet? Was it as dramatic as I imagined?"

Enid chuckled, leaning against the counter. "It was lovely. Wednesday was even better in person. We had this really nice conversation on the ride to her hotel."

Yoko raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "Better in person, huh? Do tell."

Enid felt a blush creep up her cheeks. "Yeah, I mean, she's just... more. It's hard to explain. There's this presence about her that's so captivating."

Yoko's smile widened. "You're totally gross when you've got it bad."

Before Enid could respond, she noticed Yoko's slightly disheveled appearance and a distinct glow about her. "And where were you all night? You didn't come home."

Yoko's cheeks turned pink, and she glanced away. "I, uh, spent the night at Divina's."

Enid's eyes widened in delight. "Oh my gosh! Again? Yoko, that's amazing! How was it?"

Yoko's blush deepened, but she couldn't hide her smile. "It was... perfect. We talked for hours. It felt right."

Enid was about to tease her friend further when her phone buzzed on the counter. She picked it up to see a notification from Wednesday.

Good morning, Enid.

I hope the invitation for breakfast still stands. Shall I come over?

Wednesday

Enid's heart did a little flip. She quickly typed back a response.

Subject: Re: Breakfast.

Morning!

Yes, the invitation definitely still stands. Come over anytime.

She put her phone down, turning to Yoko with a mix of excitement and urgency. "Wednesday's coming over for breakfast."

Yoko's eyes widened, and she started to freak out. "What? Like, now?"

"Yes, now," Enid replied, a bit sheepishly. "If you were home last night, I would have told you."

Yoko shot her a look. "You know text messaging exists, right?"

Enid laughed, holding up her hands in surrender. "Okay, okay, my bad. But we need to get ready. I'm thinking pancakes, and maybe you could grab some pastries?"

Yoko nodded, already grabbing her jacket. "I'm on it. You start on the pancakes. We've got this."

With a quick hug, Yoko dashed out the door, leaving Enid to her culinary task. She took a deep breath, tying her hair back as she began to gather ingredients. The kitchen was filled with the comforting sounds of batter mixing and the sizzle of the griddle heating up. Enid focused on each step, wanting everything to be perfect.
