The morning light streamed through the kitchen window of Enid and Yoko's apartment, casting a warm glow over the small, cozy space. Enid sat at the table, her fingers wrapped around a steaming mug of coffee, while Yoko busied herself at the stove, flipping pancakes with practiced ease. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling batter filled the air, creating a comforting backdrop for their morning routine.

"So, the second date went well?" Enid asked, a playful smile tugging at her lips as she watched Yoko.

Yoko turned, a grin spreading across her face. "Yeah, it was great. Divina is amazing. We talked for hours, just losing track of time. I really think you'll like her. We should all get together soon."

"I'd love that," Enid replied, genuinely happy for her friend. "You're glowing."

Yoko set the pancakes on a plate and joined Enid at the table, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "You're the one who's glowing. Spill it. What's up with you?"

Enid felt a blush creep up her cheeks as she took a sip of her coffee, trying to hide her smile behind the mug. "It's just the video call with Wednesday last night. It was... amazing to finally see her face."

"Oh, really?" Yoko leaned forward, her interest piqued. "Do tell."

Enid set her mug down, her excitement bubbling over. "We talked for hours, Yoko. It was like we'd known each other forever. She's so... I don't even know how to describe it. Intense, but in a good way. And she actually read through the finished article and loved it."

Yoko's eyes widened in surprise and delight. "That's incredible, Enid! I'm so happy for you. This is huge!"

"It is," Enid agreed, her smile widening. "I was so nervous, but it all just clicked. She even said I captured her story perfectly. I can't believe it."

Yoko reached across the table and squeezed Enid's hand. "You're amazing, Enid. You deserve this. And you're going to knock it out of the park with this article."

Enid felt a rush of gratitude for her friend's unwavering support. "Thanks, Yoko. I just hope I can keep up the momentum."

Yoko's expression turned serious for a moment. "Speaking of the article, wasn't today the day you were supposed to turn it in?"

Enid's heart skipped a beat as she nodded. "Yeah, it is. I'm nervous, but also excited. It feels like everything's finally coming together."

Yoko grinned, her eyes shining with pride. "You've got this, Enid. Just be yourself and let your talent shine through. They're going to love it."

Enid took a deep breath, feeling a surge of determination. "You're right. I've worked hard on this, and I'm proud of it. It's time to show everyone what I can do."

As they continued to eat breakfast, the conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared stories. Enid couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment, knowing she had Yoko by her side.

Later, after they'd finished eating and cleared the table, Enid retreated to her room to make the final tweaks to her article. The soft hum of the city outside her window provided a comforting background noise as she sat down at her desk, opening her laptop and pulling up the document. She read through it one last time, making minor adjustments here and there, ensuring everything was perfect.

Her phone buzzed with a notification, and she glanced at the screen to see an email from Wednesday. A thrill of excitement coursed through her as she opened the app.

Good morning, Enid.

I wanted to wish you luck with submitting the article today. I'm sure it will be well received.
