After Ash's gym battle victory over Viola the weekend went by pretty quickly. Now with Ash during lunch. The day had gone decent enough for him. He was sitting all alone in the cafeteria until...

"Hiii cousin! All alone are we~?" He heard a feminine voice call out. He looked up immediately at the familiar voice and saw none other than his cousin Leaf. He hadn't seen her in a long time.

"Leaf? What the hell are you doing here?" He asked, a little surprised that she was attending what he considers a shit hole of a school so far

"Leaf? What the hell are you doing here?" He asked, a little surprised that she was attending what he considers a shit hole of a school so far.

"That's a funny way to greet your cousin don't ya think?" She scoffs playfully and sits across from him.

He crosses his arms and looks at her.

"Why are you here?" He asks again.

"Oh would you lighten up? I recently moved to Kalos too. I'm 16 now so just this year and the next and I'm done. Sooo it isn't so bad for me," She says giggling a bit.

Ash rolls his eyes as he continued to eat his food.

"Sooo how old are you now Cuz?" She asked.

"I'm fourteen," He states bluntly.

Leaf frowns at his bluntness. "Fourteen and still acting like a child, huh?" She says trying to tease him.

"Whatever. Don't try and act like you don't walk around this school trying to get as much male attention as possible," He fires back. The audacity of this boy sometimes.

"Ugh, why are you so mean all the time?" She asks genuinely frustrated now.

Ash shrugs and gets up walking away. He finished his food and left her alone at the table. Leaf just scoffed and walked away also. Ash walks past Gary's table.

"Ashy-boy!" He heard him call out.

Ash let out an annoyed grunt.

"What do you want?" He asked annoyed.

Gary put his hands up all defensively as the rest of the group watched curiously. "Chill out man. I just wanted to ask you how your gym battle went."

Ash pulled out the bug badge he'd earned. "Got it right here. Really easy gym leader didn't put up much of a fight," he says truthfully placing it back into his pocket.

"So who was that girl you were with, hm? Lover boy," Gary smirks. He was clearly speaking about Leaf.

"That's my cousin you idiot," Ash puts a hand over his face due to his stupidity.

"Wait. That's your cousin?!?" Gary Asked looking shocked.

"Yeah. Dumbass..." He mumbled.

The rest of the group looked just as surprised as Gary did. Leaf was already well known amongst the school for being a popular girl and Volleyball captain. After this Ash simply left not wanting to converse with anyone else there.

Calem perked up at the mention of the gym. "Oh speaking about gym leaders... I wasn't able to get mine yesterday," He said.

Paul and Trip turned to him. "What? You lost to Viola?" Paul asked.

"Nah, I couldn't even battle her. Both of her Pokémon were too injured to even battle after a challenger left her gym before I got there," He explained.

"Too injured?" Trip repeated. "So what happened?"

"I don't know! Her Pokémon barley looked alive and looked like they had been through complete hell," Calem said, remembering how exhausted Vivillon and Surskit looked.

"Damn. That sucks," Gary whistled sarcastically.

"Yeah, it does!" Calem said angrily. "Now I have to wait a week and a half for a gym battle!"

"Chill out, dude. Not like you were going to beat her anyway with your Chespin," Paul says chuckling.

Calem gives him a glare before scoffing and going back to munching on his food.
