Chapter 10: Twisted Emotions
Ming Yue seethed with pain and anger as he watched the video of Zhang Li and Gu Sheng Nan's passionate kiss. His plan to make Sheng Nan fall in love with him and spy for him had backfired. No one had ever rejected him before, and he couldn't accept it, especially with the underworld election looming.
In Zhang Li's car, Sheng Nan's face glowed red as she couldn't shake off the memory of their kiss. A message from her father, whom she hadn't heard from since her marriage, caught her attention. She showed it to Zhang Li, who raised an eyebrow.
"Are you sure it's your dad, not Ming Yue?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.
Sheng Nan assured him it was her father, and Zhang Li's gaze turned intense. "So, you'd consider Ming Yue if you weren't married?" he asked, his voice low.
Sheng Nan rolled her eyes. "Of course not! I have a husband."
Zhang Li chuckled, pulling her close. "You're mine," he whispered, kissing her forehead as the driver took them to the Gu mansion.
