Having apologized to Emily and promising to see her, I run behind the slope, chaotically and not at all carefully, studying the mountainous terrain covered with dense trees. Finally seeing her, I exhale with relief, and my face involuntarily stretches into a smile.

Fortunately, the man who was following her on the descent, like me, who had watched her entire pirouette, decided not to stay on the sidelines, and, unfastening the fastening, also went in search of the girl. He came up, helping her unfasten, and lifting her up, he grabbed her by the waist. I saw how the lower, uncovered part of her face was distorted by a grimace of pain, but nevertheless, making an effort over herself, she stood up.

The man helped her get to the edge of the slope, there, sitting on her butt, she slowly rolled down, carefully holding the board, now hated by me, on her knees.

I squatted down in front of her when she finally reached the bottom, moved her glasses from her face to her helmet, excitedly looking into the green eyes that had tears in the corners.

"Where does it hurt, Bec?" I asked carefully, examining her for damage.

"Fuck, Freen, I don't know," pushing off with her hand, she tried to get up "the right side... I drove straight into a tree... almost everything hurts" the brunette added, frowning her nose, apparently from a sharp piercing pain, unsuccessfully trying to get up , sank back into the snow.

"Okay, let's go figure this out" I said encouragingly, extending my hand to her, lifting her into a vertical position, hugging her around the waist, throwing her left arm over my shoulders. In this position, we slowly moved towards the hotel, Becky was limping heavily on her right leg and we stopped several times to rest before we got to the room.

There I took her to the sofa, where she sat back with pleasure on the soft back while I took off my outerwear.

I turned around, she was lying relaxed with her eyelids closed, spreading her shock of silky hair over the back of the sofa, a helmet with glasses was carelessly lying nearby, for a while I stood motionless, just looked, absorbing her into myself, then I came up, sitting down on the edge of the sofa.

"Shall we undress you?!" I rather stated than asked. Without opening her eyes, her face stretched out into a wide, satisfied smile.

"I was afraid that I would never hear this from you."

"Very funny! " I was indignant "considering the situation in which I say this."

"It's exciting in any situation" she answered, opening her eyes, in a deliberately lower voice, sitting up a little higher on the back of the sofa.

I narrowed my eyes and looked at her suspiciously.

"And in general, it seems to me that you are already able to do this on your own."

"You're so nasty!" the girl was indignant "I actually drove into a tree! And it's your fault! And it's even difficult for you to help me.

"What do I have to do with it?" I was taken aback by her impudence. She rolled her eyes, emphasizing the obviousness of what was happening.

"Well, I wasn't the one hugging the tall, cute brown-haired girl there."

"God, you even managed to see her" I said in amazement.

"Imagine! For which I paid" she muttered offendedly "I can handle it myself" she stood up, unbuttoning her jacket, cursing in pain when she threw it off her right shoulder.

I watched, thinking about her words, that she flew off the track, distracted by Emily and me.

Having no previous idea of what the girl really felt for me, this was perhaps the first small piece of the puzzle, a kind of key to explaining the true reason for her behavior.
