Chapter Five: Yuki's First Report Card

The morning sun streamed through the windows of the Ayanokōji household, casting a warm glow over the kitchen. It was a typical weekday morning, but there was a sense of excitement in the air. Yuki, now six years old and in her first year of elementary school, was eagerly anticipating the moment she would get to share her first report card with her parents.

Kiyotaka and Arisu sat at the breakfast table, sipping their tea as they watched their daughter finish her cereal. Yuki had grown into a bright and curious child, her dark eyes always full of wonder. Her love for learning was evident in everything she did, and both Kiyotaka and Arisu were incredibly proud of the little girl she was becoming.

"Are you ready for school today, Yuki?" Arisu asked with a smile, setting down her cup.

Yuki looked up, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Yes, Mama! Today's the day I get my report card! I worked really hard, and I can't wait to show it to you and Daddy!"

Kiyotaka exchanged a knowing glance with Arisu. They both knew how much effort Yuki had put into her studies, and they had no doubt that her report card would reflect that.

"I'm sure you did wonderfully, Yuki," Kiyotaka said, his voice calm but warm. "Just remember that we're proud of you no matter what."

Yuki beamed at her father's words, her heart swelling with happiness. She admired her parents greatly, and their support and encouragement meant the world to her. "Thank you, Daddy! I'll do my best."

The day passed slowly for Yuki, her excitement growing with each passing hour. Finally, when the school bell rang to signal the end of the day, she was handed a sealed envelope containing her report card. Clutching it tightly, she practically skipped out of the classroom, eager to show it to her parents.

When Yuki arrived home, she found Kiyotaka and Arisu waiting for her in the living room. She ran up to them, her face flushed with excitement, and held out the envelope with both hands.

"Mama! Daddy! Here it is!" Yuki exclaimed, her voice filled with anticipation.

Arisu smiled, taking the envelope from Yuki's hands. "Let's see what you've accomplished, my little scholar," she said, her tone full of affection.

Kiyotaka sat beside Arisu, his expression softening as he looked at Yuki. He could see the pride and excitement in her eyes, and it warmed his heart to know how much this moment meant to her.

Arisu carefully opened the envelope and pulled out the report card. Her eyes scanned the page, and as she read through the grades, her smile grew wider.

"Yuki," Arisu said, her voice full of emotion, "you got perfect scores. All 100s!"

Yuki's face lit up with pure joy. "Really, Mama? I did it?" she asked, her voice a mixture of disbelief and happiness.

Kiyotaka took the report card from Arisu and looked it over himself. Sure enough, every subject was marked with a perfect score. He felt a swell of pride in his chest, knowing how hard Yuki had worked to achieve this.

"You did it, Yuki," Kiyotaka said, his voice calm but filled with a rare warmth. "We're so proud of you."

Yuki couldn't contain her excitement any longer. She threw her arms around Kiyotaka's neck, hugging him tightly. "Thank you, Daddy! I wanted to make you and Mama proud!"

Kiyotaka wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. "You always make us proud, Yuki. Not just because of your grades, but because of who you are. You're kind, curious, and hardworking. Those are the things that truly matter."

Arisu joined the hug, wrapping her arms around both Kiyotaka and Yuki. Tears of joy filled her eyes as she pressed a kiss to the top of Yuki's head. "You've done so well, Yuki. We couldn't be prouder of you."

Yuki felt a warmth spread through her heart as she was enveloped in her parents' embrace. Their love and support meant everything to her, and in that moment, she knew that all her hard work had been worth it.

After a long, loving hug, Yuki pulled back and looked up at her parents with a determined expression. "I'm going to keep working hard, Mama, Daddy! I want to keep learning and getting better at everything!"

Kiyotaka smiled, gently ruffling her hair. "That's the spirit, Yuki. Remember, it's not just about getting perfect scores. It's about enjoying the process of learning and growing."

Arisu nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with pride. "And we'll be here to support you every step of the way."

Yuki beamed up at her parents, her heart overflowing with love and happiness. "Thank you, Mama! Thank you, Daddy! I love you so much!"

"We love you too, Yuki," Arisu said softly, her voice filled with emotion. "More than you could ever know."

As the three of them sat together, basking in the joy of Yuki's accomplishment, Kiyotaka and Arisu knew that this was just the beginning. Yuki's future was bright, and with her determination and the love and support of her family, there was no limit to what she could achieve.

And as they looked at their daughter, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together—as a family.
