Based on the Rhode Island reunion. kinda low key pissed that picture of it are circulating the internet.
"I am so happy we could make this work," Taylor said, reaching behind her so she would place her hands on either side of Travis' cheeks.
His beard tickles her palms. They were lounging out by the pool of her house, Holiday House, in Rhode Island. They had crowded onto a single lounge chair, Taylor laying on top of Travis and his arms holding securely around her bare midsection.
"Same," he nodded. Their schedule had lined up perfectly this week.
Taylor had arrived home from tour just as Travis finished a pre-season game and then ventured into a three day break from all commitments. When Taylor had mentioned wanting to spend the weekend in Rhode Island, he'd jumped on it.
Rhode Island was her favourite place to go the decompress, especially in the summer. The house itself was beautiful with its white Victorian style architecture and the yard was extravagant with ample space move around in. Plus, the pool and view of the ocean were breathtaking . It was truly her favourite property that she owned.
"I love it here," Taylor remarked.
"I love it here so much," he agreed. "Thank you for sharing it with me."
Joe hadn't been a fan of Holiday House, he thought it was showy and asking for attention. There were too many windows and outdoor living spaces for people to peep into or paparazzi to photograph through.
"What's mine is yours, baby."
Taylor felt Travis nod behind her and place a kiss to her shoulder, his facial hair tickling her lightly. She wasn't sure how she felt about the whole moustache situation Travis had revived for training camp. Taylor didn't hate it, it made him look tough, but she wasn't a huge fan of the way it tickled her face, body, lips; any part of her it touched. Travis liked it though, that was what mattered to her.
"It's Blake's birthday today," Taylor mentioned after a few minutes of blissful silence they had spent enjoying the glare of the sun and warmth of each other.
"Mhm, I remember you mentioning that."
"I texted her. I wanted to see her for it though," Taylor turned her body over so their stomachs were touching and she could see Travis' face, a little pinked form the sun. "But, she's in LA celebrating with Ryan and the kids. I feel like a bad friend but I really wanted to see you for this break and I just couldn't do another flight."
"That doesn't make you a bad friend at all! She knows you're busy, baby. You guys will see each other soon and you can do a rain check birthday."
"True," Taylor breathed out, laying her head down on Travis' chest.
She inhaled deeply through her nose, breathing him in. She had missed him deeply, every cell of her body had ached for him these past few weeks. So here, in this moment, when there wasn't more than an inch between their two hearts beating and nothing to do but enjoy the closeness, she felt whole.
Later that evening, Taylor and Travis were unloading their grocery order and Taylor was growing slightly annoyed. For one, Travis had been the one to submit the order and he had purchased way too much food and booze, even for them. And as they were putting the food away he kept ducking out of the kitchen with his phone.
"Babe, why did you order so much beer? There's no way you're going to drink all of these twelve packs in three days!" Taylor said, gesturing at the six cases of assorted beer Travis had piled on the counter.
"It'll get drunk, don't worry!" he claimed.
Taylor balked at him, exasperated. Travis could put back his fair share of beer but with the regular season creeping up on them, daily beers definitely weren't in his meal plan.
"Just pace yourself," she pleaded with a fond sigh.
"It's not all for me," Travis said, voice trailing off at the end as if he hadn't meant to say it.
"Who's it for?" Taylor asked.
It was just supposed to be the two of them all weekend.
"Never mind," he brushed her off.
Taylor was about to protest, when the doorbell clanged through the house. She looked at him confused. They weren't expected anyone and if someone had shown up the gate would have phoned her. So, whoever was ringing the doorbell had gotten past the gate.
"That's weird," Taylor remarked. "Did you invite anyone over?"
"Maybe a couple people," Travis sounded sheepish.
Taylor grabbed her phone out of her back pocket and opened up her doorbell app that allowed her to get a visual on whoever was standing at her doorway through a small camera in the peephole. She just about chocked when she saw the doorbell ringer's long, blond hair and soft curls standing there. Behind her were three children and a man with glasses holding a third child. Blake and her family.
"Trav!" she squealed, "Blake, Ryan and the kids are here!"
Before he could answer she took off down the stairs and towards the main entrance of the house. She flung open the door and crashed into Blake's open arms.
"Oh my gosh, happy birthday!" she exclaimed.
Just after dinner, it happened again. The couples and the children had shared a barbecue dinner of hamburgers, grilled corn, potato salad, wine and of course, beer.
"Go see, Tay," Travis instructed when Taylor had reached for her phone to check the door camera.
She flashed him a smile and got up to walk towards the door again. This time when she opened it she was greeted by three small girls who she recognized instantly to be Travis' nieces. Behind them were their parents, Jason and Kylie, looking beat from travelling with three kids under five.
"You guys!" Taylor said, wrapping everyone in hugs.
Travis was close behind her, hugging them as well and then lifting the smallest Kelce girl onto his hip.
"We brought a cake for Blake, Uncle Trav!" the oldest said proudly, pointing to her dad who was carrying a large, white, cardboard box. A box Taylor hadn't even noticed at first, too excited by the people who were there.
"You're an all-star, girlie! Thank you!" Travis replied.
Before Taylor and Travis could usher the second set of guests into the house and up the stairs to where the first set were hanging out, a third car pulled up and more people got out.
"Patty Mahomes!" Travis bellowed.
"Oh my gosh, Britt!" Taylor squealed as Patrick and Brittany, along with their kids, exited the black Escalade.
"Trav, did you do all this?" Taylor turned to Travis and she was speechless.
He used the arm was wasn't holding the child to pull her in close and press a kiss to the top of her head.
"For you, babe. I wanted to welcome you back home properly."
