Sorry it has been so long since I've updated this story! September had been the work month from hell so far! This one kind of diverges from the theme of comparing Joe to Travis but I just don't think Joe would have ever made appearances with Taylor like Travis did this week. Enjoy this little pic based off of Travis and Taylor's outings this past week!! (Time line probably not accurate).
Sorry for typos! I haven't proof read and wanted to get this out!
TW: minor descriptions of consensual, drunk sex.
Taylor woke up around eleven in the morning feeling rested and refreshed in the way that only emerged after a good, uninterrupted sleep. The kind of sleep she only got when Travis wrapped up around her like a comfort blanket, instilling a euphoric feeling safety in her. The solace she found in Travis reminded her of the comfort a young child found in their mother; a hug from that person instantly eliminating whatever discomfort was eating at them. Between her and Travis, it didn't matter the nature of her touch, all that mattered was there was touch. A hand entwined with hers as they walked, his front against her back as they stood, lips against lips in the bedroom, or right now, an arm over her side and hand resting on her middle as breath was exhaled against her neck and shoulder, tickling her ear.
Gazing over at him, she wasn't sure he had ever felt this way about anyone before. Unable to resist, Taylor flipped over underneath his arm and using her finger, she traced his face; the slope of his nose, the soft hairs of his moustache. That goddamn moustache that she was slowly growing to love. She ran the pad of her pointer finger over the outer corner of his eye, the spot that crinkled when he smiled. One of her favourite features of his face. She touched between his eyebrows, smoothing down the frown that emerged as he must've felt her fingers there.
"Are you waking up?" she whispered.
"Sorta," he whispered back, shifting around.
When he went still again, Taylor thought he may have fallen back asleep. However, before long his eyes blinked open. Sleepy but bright.
"Good morning," Taylor greeted.
"Morning, baby."
The arm he still had around her, it had been here all night, tightened as he pulled her in. They kissed each other, the concept of morning breath completely non-existent between them.
"How's the body?" Taylor asked, when they finally broke apart and she'd had a chance to catch her breath.
Travis shifted around more, tightened and relaxing his muscles, taking stock. He'd had his first game of the season the night before, hence the late morning.
"Not bad. Just stiff mostly," he shrugged.
She hummed, knowing what 'not bad' was code for. He was never pain free, he hadn't been for years. Something seemed to always be bugging him to the point where he was so used to it, it barely registered. For Travis it was more a matter of how much he hurt, not if he hurt.
"What time's it?" Travis said through a yawn.
"Little past eleven."
"Not too late," he mumbled, nuzzling his face into the crook of Taylors neck.
"You going to sleep again?" Taylor asked, hoping his answer would be a negative.
The morning after games tended to be the worst for him. His body always took a beating; bruise and sore from the exertion and the impact of collisions. He'd also be worn out from the game itself as well as the post-game festivities. So, the days after games were reserved for rest. Sleep half the day and then vegetate on the couch for hours. Taylor had a similar routine, making them both pros at the activities. Still, today she had an idea of something she wanted to do. The past week had her writing new song lyrics and she was inspired to record. It had occurred to her that morning, as she watched him sleep, that she wanted him to come to the studio for it.
