"Your sense of humor isn't appreciated and honestly needs work."

Alastor's brain refused to believe Lucifer's words to be true. There had to be a cure for this. He couldn't fathom having another episode like that with Charlie. He would sooner say his goodbyes and part ways. It would rip his heart out but he would do it to ensure that no harm would come to her. He took a side glance at Charlie and could see on her face that she believed every word her father said.

"Unfortunately I'm not joking." Lucifer watched as a million thoughts ran behind both Alastor and Charlie's eyes. These kids were panicking and he couldn't blame them. He went through great lengths to try and find a cure while Charlie was out cold. He wanted nothing more than to present them the answer to their problems once she woke but this is Hell and things never work out here.

It was a good thing that he had somewhat pleasant news.

"All hope is not lost though." Alastor's ears perked up and Charlie's eyes were superglued to Lucifer's face. They both looked like they were watching a scary movie and were waiting with baited breath to see if the girl dies in the end.

"I can have a friend of mine create an elixir of sorts. His name's Baxter and he's actually quite intelligent! Anyway, this elixir keeps the potion from doubling your oxytocin so you don't go into obsessive and rabid mode again."

"Um...is that not a cure?" Charlie inquired.

"Well. There is a catch."

"Naturally." Alastor rolled his eyes.

"The elixir's ability to keep the potions work at bay only lasts for one day. So that means-"

"You'll have to drink an elixir everyday. Forever." Charlie finished. She watched as Alastor looked from the floor back to Lucifer. His mind was a catastrophe of thoughts and scenarios and it nearly made him queasy.

"Would we have ample supply at our disposal?" Alastor questioned.

"Baxter said he could make enough." Lucifer assured.

Alastor looked at him suspiciously. "So you need me to put my trust in a creature I've never met?"

"No, I need you to put your trust in me." Lucifer stated firmly. Alastor was slightly taken aback by Lucifer's words. They've never been close, quite the opposite, but they did have one thing in common: they wanted Charlie safe. Such common ground made it slightly easier to play into whatever he was planning at.

"Dad it sounds like this Baxter guy would have to make a lot of this elixir."

"Well considering that the dosage is the equivalent to a shot, lets say one point five ounces, that means Baxter would need to make three thousand eight hundred and ninety four gallons per month. That's roughly forty six thousand seven hundred and twenty gallons per year." Lucifer grinned. "Consider it his hellish punishment for trapping those people on the Titanic before he met his own demise."

Alastor and Charlie both gawked at Lucifer, minds completely fried.

"What? I'm old as fuck guys, did you really expect me to not be good at basic math?"

"Basic?" Charlie began to question, but shook her head as she focused on what was important. "Alastor."

He looked at her without a second missed. "Hmm?"

"Alastor you will have to take this elixir everyday, forever, just to be around me. Do you honestly think it's worth it?" Charlie felt her panic creep up her throat, threatening to choke her. She wanted nothing more than for Alastor to stay, but could she really ask something like this from him?
