I think she fell in love She said she trusts me with Her life.
I don't know what compelled me to write during a horrible semester, but here I am back with some smut. Also, how the heck is fanfic supposed to compete with CharacterAI?
^^This is a genuine question I need someone to answer.
Mira shouldn't have been afraid of her own boyfriend, she knew that. But walking toward his office after the text he'd sent her was like walking into an examination room right before a final. Her nerves were on fire, her heartbeat so loud she could hear it in her damn ears. But why the hell was she so afraid of this conversation? And why the hell did she feel like she'd done something wrong?
Despite the usual confidence she felt when she was home alone with him, she found herself knocking on his office doors rather than just marching right in like she owned the place. There was a moment of horrible silence that ticked by before he responded from the other end.
"Come in, Mira."
She cussed under her breath, her heart working triple time now. Still, she forced herself to enter his office as though she was completely normal. He sat behind his desk as usual, a pen in hand as he scribbled something onto a document, a whiskey glass that was on its last sip near his elbow.
"Did you seriously just knock?" he asked, glancing up at her. He seemed to notice the way she hadn't moved any further away from the door, at how she played with her fingers in an effort to distract herself. She seriously hoped he couldn't tell how nervous she actually was but something told her that he saw right through her. Sighing, Hiram put down his pen and gave her his undivided attention. "What's going on with you?"
"You said you wanted to talk," she answered. She watched him tilt his head at her, his brows furrowing as he tried to understand her behavior. Yeah, she knew she was acting off. She would've been standing right next to him by now on any other day, but she couldn't. And she didn't know why.
"You're acting like you're guilty of something," he said, his eyes watching her even more intently now. She felt like she was being examined beneath a microscope. But she couldn't help but wonder... is that what she felt? Did she feel guilty about Jayden?
"I was going to tell you he was in town," she blurted. "I ran into him at Pop's and I came straight here to tell you, but I didn't get a chance with everything going on. And then he showed up and things got... well you were there." Hiram didn't respond right away. He watched her as she stood there, still a nervous mess. His expression seemed to harden. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
