Being bad has me feeling so good

Mira hadn't left her house all weekend. Thanks to her least favorite teacher who just so happened to teach her least favorite subject, Mira was stuck cramming for her upcoming history test. Her teacher, being the sociopath she was, wanted her students to memorize every date and historical figure mentioned in the textbook. Mira assumed her teacher was a sadist, because only a sadist would intentionally inflict such pain upon someone. Even leaving her room had become a rarity, which she only realized when she noticed the alarming amount of cups, mugs, and glasses piled up on her desk.

"I can't take this anymore!" she exclaimed, slamming her textbook shut and throwing it across the room. She was going to lose her mind if she continued. "I need a break."

So, she changed out of her pajamas and into presentable clothing before hopping into her car and driving to Pop's for some much-needed junk food and milkshakes. Her initial plan was to take her dinner to go until she saw Veronica, Betty, and Jughead at a nearby table.

"Mira!" Veronica said, waving her over to the table with a smile. "Come sit with us."

Betty turned to look at her, but it wasn't with a friendly smile, there was irritability evident in her eyes. Nonetheless, Mira walked over to their table and took a seat next to Veronica.

"I haven't heard from you all weekend. Where have you been?" Veronica said.

"Yeah, Mira, what have you been doing?" Betty asked accusingly, challenging her with her eyes. Mira met her gaze, but brushed off the comment.

"Studying for the history test. Haven't you guys started?" Mira asked. They were all in her class, but didn't even show up half of the time. They must have been struggling more than she was.

"Nope, we don't really study," Veronica shrugged.

"I have a four-point one GPA, but I only went to class in the first season," Betty said.

"I'm in a gang," Jughead added.

"Okay," Mira just pursed her lips and nodded. Greendale suddenly seemed much more sane than Riverdale.

"I'm going to go get another milkshake," Jughead said, sliding out of the booth.

"Wait for me!" Veronica said, following him to the front of the diner leaving Betty and Mira alone at the table. Betty stared at Mira coldly, while Mira relaxed back into her seat with an amused smile. It was clear what Betty wanted to talk to Mira about, she was the only one in Riverdale smart enough to figure out the truth.
