Chuu's pov
"She's here, right?"
Suga had a look on his face that I didn't know what meant. Mixed emotions. Sadness, fear, anger, anxiety, confusion, all in once.
"Answer me! She's here right?!"
He's not answering.
Heejin speaks up. She pulls a knife out. "If you don't answer and let us in right now, things will get muddy."
"I need to expl-"
"Who are you guys talking t-"
A man approaches Suga and Hyunjin from behind and he saw me and Heejin. Heejin with knife.
"Hey! Put that down right now or I'll call the police on you!!What the hell is this!!" he says
"Okay! Let's call the police and tell them you have a girl dying in your basement since 2018!"
His face turned red. " I have no idea what you're talking about! Leave right now or I'll call the pol-"
"Dad. It's over."
"Son! What the hell you think you're doing."
"Dad. They know. They know she's here. It's over. We need to tell them. Everything. And we need to let her go."
I can see the same mix of emotions on his dad's face. Sadness, fear, anger, anxiety. He wasn't confused. He knew exactly what we were talking about.
Suga moved from the front door.
"I want to see her" I said
"You will. Please let us explain everything."
I walked behind him, following him to the living room.
Heejin was behind me, next to Hyunjin
Heejin pointed at her. "And you knew?!"
"I-"
"Okay. You two sit down. I'll explain everything."
We sat down and stayed silent.
"So...back then..." He started talking " You know, my mother died when I was 6 years old. After some years, my dad started talking with Yves's mother. And...I guess you know what happened next. He asked her to live with him, but she declined, because of Yves. They made a deal that if he kills Yves, she will divorce Yves's dad and be with my dad. My dad's plan was to kidnap her and kill her in our basement, but he didn't. He didn't kill her. He brought her food and water and some things she wanted, expect clothes, because back then he didn't have a daughter, so if he bought clothes for a little girl, people would know she's here."
He exhaled "Then people started to look for her. They didn't find her and everyone thought she's dead, including her mom. Her dad became depressed and started drinking. Her mom wanted to divorce him, using his alcohol addiction as an excuse, but in reality, she didn't care and she just wanted to marry my dad. Yves's dad was mad at her mom because she wanted to leave him, so he killed her. And now he's in jail."
"Eventually, when I got older, I found out about Yves. I knew she was here. I found out 3 years ago. I became her friend and I'd often play board games with her. Talk with her, and when nobody else was home I'd get her out of the basement and show her around the house. Several times she begged me and dad to let her go, but dad never allowed. And uh...sometimes he'd hit her or cut her wrists because she didn't 'behave well'. Somrtimes, without my dad knowing I'd help her clean them and put bandaids on them."
"One day dad told her to wash the car and that's when she saw you on the street. I saw her and.." he glanced at Hyunjin "so did she."
"I told Hyunjin everything and she told me she won't tell anyone. Under one condition. She wanted me to be her boyfriend and I obviously accepted."
"Hoe" was all Heejin said to Hyunjin
"And uh...That's why I started bullying you and made you into thinking she's dead..."
"And threatened me..."
He lifts his head up in confusion
"What?"
