The moment you stepped off the locker rooms- the majority of your team was still there, especially Chigiri who was too busy rinsing correctly with too much care-, the echo of your footsteps seemed to bounce off the empty walls, amplifying the unsettling silence that greeted you. You expected the usual crowd-Bachira's bubbly presence, maybe Aryu's praises, or even an old ex-teammate or rival lurking around, ready to throw an unsolicited comment about the match. It would be funny to have Raichi around, you thought, he was almost like both for you. But the corridor was eerily deserted.

You frowned, as if disappointed by the lack of expected attention like a little kid, the silence unsettling in its strangeness, and turned your head slightly, half-expecting someone to jump out and startle you. But the emptiness was complete, save for Karasu who walked beside you, his steps in sync with yours.

"Ego is holding them back," Karasu's voice cut through the silence, calm and knowing, as if he could read the question forming on your lips. "One of his speech talks. Seems like whatever you just did out there matched his egoistic standards."

You tilted your head, curiosity piqued, and before you could even ask how he knew that, Karasu was already one step ahead. With a small, self-satisfied smirk, he held out his phone, brightly glowing. On it, you could see a messaging app open, with a string of texts from Otoya- who seemingly, according to the texts he sent, sneaked his phone and was now using it in secret to 'pass the time' and...
