You rub your eyes. "Wait. What do you mean Far? Don't tell me—"
Bachira grins, teeth flashing. "We missed the stop."
You blink, standing up and walking out. The cold breeze hits your face like a bullet. "What?"
"Like... all the stops." He spreads his hands like he's announcing something wonderful. "We're super far now. It's kinda fun, right?"
"Fun?" you echo, flat.
"Yeah! Just the three of us," he says, sing-song, "The last train. The night air. Adventure~."
"Adventure," you repeat, unamused.
Isagi looks up from his phone, eyes wide and apologetic. "There's literally no train back until morning. The next one is at—uh, five forty-seven. So we're kinda... stuck."
You exhale slowly. "You're kidding me."
"Okay, okay guys don't panic." Isagi mumbled, clearly panicking a little while typing something on his phone.
You're not panicking, you're just pissed. Because you can hear the soft hum of buzzing streets from the dark, empty station, which is odd considering you're in one of Japan's hundreds of random, not so big and probably kinda dead, towns. Until you hear Bachira gasp with joy when he notices a flyer in one of the boards hanging.
