*beeb been beeb*
I'm awoken by the sound of an alarm, but it's not mine.
"Ughhhh" I roll over to see Mia turning off her phone, "sorry sweetheart, didn't mean to wake you" she smiles, putting her phone back on the night stand.

"It's okay, I should get up anyway"
"It's only 7am, thought you didn't have work until 1?"
"I don't but I have to sort things out for the girls to come back tomorrow" I would really rather stay in bed but I have to clean the house
"The fun doesn't have to end just yet sweetheart, we have ages"
"Oh the fun has ended with this headache. How much did I drink last night?"

"A little more than one glass" she smirks. Brilliant. And on a school night; what an earth was I thinking? Seriously Charlotte? "I'm a bad influence on you" she laughs as I sink further into the sheets
"You are!"

...

Mia decided she couldn't be bothered with work either. I don't know how she can just decide that and it's final. Anyway she decided to stay and help me clean a bit before I had to get into work. She's a great friend, most would probably leave me to it.

"When do the kids go back to their dads?" She asks as she walks out of the living room,
"Saturday, it's my weekend but the schedule was mixed up with Elsie's birthday. Her party is Saturday, why don't you come?"
"Me?"
"Of course, I could use another adult there. 20 kids and it's just me and Jason"
"And he would be okay with it?"
"Why wouldn't he? He will most likely bring his new girlfriend anyway"
"New what??"

"Yeah he told me he was seeing someone the night I met you in the bar"
"So is that why you brought me home?" She smirks "looking for a rebound sweetheart?" What?!?
"Funny" I laugh, grabbing my bag, "okay I've actually got to go to work now, will we see you at the party?"
"If you insist sweetheart, text me later, okay?" I nod and we both leave. I lock up and make my way to work.

...

I'm so glad my headache had soothed by the time 1 o'clock rolled around. Mia made me a coffee and to be honest practically cleaned the kitchen and living room herself while I did some laundry. I could never appreciate her enough. Maybe I should get her something to say thanks?

I'm not sure. Anyway I have to get into work mode now. Focus Char. I didn't even know you could separate the two until I met Mia. But she says to always draw a thick line between work and home life, even if there's nothing else to talk about. She's very open minded? I'm not sure how to describe her. She does what she wants I guess.

As I walk into the staff room, I see Sorscha sat down,
"Hey Sorscha" I smile
"Charlie, hey! How are ya?"
"I'm good thanks, you?"
"Ah grand. You sure though, you a little tired?" Do I look that bad?!
"Oh, I uh, bit of a headache. May have had a little drink last night" she raises her brow in utter shock.

"You? Drinking on a school night? That's not like you"
"I'm aloud one glass sometimes" I laugh, "and I was with a friend"
"Anyone I know?"
"No I don't think so. She's a new friend"
"Bad influence"
"Maybe a little" I laugh.

"Anyway, how's Clodagh doing?" Clodagh is Sorcha's wife, and pregnant too,
"Apart from the sleep deprivation she's grand, we had another scan the other day"
"Oh did you? Well I'm glad everything's okay" I'm so happy for the couple to finally have their baby. I know how excited they are.
"Thanks Charlie. How are the girls? And how was Elsie's birthday?"
"They're doing okay and Elsie had fun, back at their dads now but I get them tomorrow"

When I first told Sorscha bout Jason and I splitting up, she was very supportive. I wasn't really sure how to tell anyone at first and it took a few weeks but it felt like a huge weight off of my shoulders once I did.

...

The day went by quickly and soon enough I was out of work. Before I went home I decided to pop into town for some things for this weekend.

I picked up some more packets of balloons and bought some snacks as well as things to make sandwiches, a few frozen pizzas and random picky bits.

I ordered some face painting supplies online and they will be here tomorrow, and I think that's it. The local hall has been booked, bouncy castle hired, food and face paints secured. That's it for me. Jason said he will bring his speaker and Izzy jumped at the chance to make a playlist for it. I just know every song will be Disney related.

Jason also said he will play a few games with the kids to keep them entertained if needed so I think we are all set.
