The days pass by smoothly although Elsie asking "is it my party yet?" every hour did get a little annoying after a while. But she's excited so can I complain?
It's now Friday and I decided to invite Mia over so she could meet the girls properly. I'm just wiping down the kitchen sides when I hear the doorbell ring.
Opening the door, I greet the red head with a smile,
"Hey, come on in"
"Thank you sweetheart. Oh, and I got something for Elsie" she's holding a pink glittery bag, that's so sweet! I didn't expect that at all,
"Aw thank you, you didn't have to do that" I lead her into the living room where the girls are.
"Girls, this is Mia, do you remember her from the shop?"
"I do! Hello" Elsie smiles brightly,
"Hello sweetheart, I've got you something" she hands over the bag and Elsie's mouth practically drops to the ground,
"Wow! Thank you Mia!"
"What is it Elsie?" Izzy asks,
"Oh my gosh! It's the cutest bunny!" She pulls out a little while bunny teddy, "I LOVE BUNNIES" she really does love bunnies,
"I wasn't sure what to get you so I thought a teddy was the safest option"
"Thank you!!" Elsie hugs Mia which definitely takes her by surprise but does hug her back. Well she's definitely making a good impression.
"So I was thinking of ordering in for tea, what do you girls want?"
"Can we have pizza?"
"Yeah I want pizza too!" Elsie adds,
"Pizza it is, that alright Mia?"
"Yeah sounds perfect"
...
The girls were getting to know Mia more over pizza and Disney, it was actually quite fun. Now the sun was beginning to set and Elsie was getting tired. She was leaning against me and kept yawning so I suggest she goes to bed. She didn't want to at first but Mia agreed to read her a story and soon enough she was sleeping with her new bunny right next to her.
"Thank you for that, you know you're really good with kids"
"Thank you, and your girls are just angels" they are.
"Mum can we watch another movie now Elsie is in bed?"
"Of course sweetheart, what would you like?"
"Can we watch Bambi?"
"Of course"
It didn't take long for Izzy to fall asleep on the sofa too, they both must have had long days at school. I suppose this weekend has been very busy with them going back and forth to their dads.
"Are you staying tonight?"
"That's up to you sweetheart"
"You can if you like. That's if you're still coming to the party tomorrow?"
"I'd love to. Do I have to crash on the sofa?"
"You can stay with me if you prefer, you've done it before" she agrees and I carry Izzy up to her bedroom before meeting Mia in mine.
I offer Mia some clothes to sleep in so she's in a baggy shirt and some of my shorts and I change into pyjama bottoms and a tank top.
...
"It's today! It's today! Mummy wake up!" I open my eyes to Elsie sat right on top of me. Ughhh.
"Sweetie it's eight am"
"My party is today we have to get up!" I hear a groan from beside me and see Mia opening her eyes
"You are lucky you're cute" Elsie smiles cutely at her comment and I playfully roll my eyes and I roll out of bed.
You know, it's so hard to be a positive person when I just love sleep too much.
"Okay sweetie, why don't you go wake your sister up okay?"
"Okay mummy!" She runs out of the room and Mia sits herself up against my headboard.
"Would you like a coffee or anything?" I offer
"You're an angel"
After I made pancakes for breakfast for the girls, Mia goes home to get some clothes and I go to get ready for the day. Izzy can get herself ready but I got to help Elsie choose a dress for her party.
"I want this one!" She picks out an adorable rainbow dress with ruffles on the sleeves and bottom, it's her unicorn dress that came with a little unicorn headband but she decided to wear her tiara instead. She is the birthday princess.
I was curling Izzy's hair when Mia walked back in, I love the dress that Izzy picked. It's baby blue with sparkles and she wanted her Baby blue ribbon for her hair too.
"Well don't you two look beautiful" Mia smiles at the girls,
"Thank you Mia"
"Mummy can we go yet?" Elsie huffs. She's been asking the same question every three minutes for the past hour.
"Yes alright we can go"
"Yay!"
"Mum is dad gonna bring Maddison?" Izzy asks,
"I think so, why?"
"I like daddy's new friend. And mummy has a new friend too! I like you too Mia" not that kind of friend though,
"Thank you sweetheart"
"Alright come on then, let's go"
