Her strikingly blue eyes filled with tears as he stared down at her, trying desperately to keep his face void of any emotion. It may not seem like it, but this was hard for him too. He began to walk away but she followed.
"You can't just do this. You can't promise me forever and always and then just leave me here. Were you kidding when you said that?" She shouted making him stop in his tracks. His fists clenched as he turned around. He would never hit her, no, but she wished he would. It would hurt a lot less than what he was doing right now.
"We are going on two different paths in life. You are about to be some famous superstar. You are literally getting on a plane tomorrow to start your already growing singing career, you really think we could survive that?" He spat, wanting nothing more to take his words back as her face fell.
"This isn't you. This is Riggs talking isn't it?" She asked, trying her best to hide the tears. Scott's jaw clenched.
"No. It's not. I don't want to be with you anymore."
Those words crushed her entire soul.
They've survived four high school years. They met on the first day of their freshman year, starting to date a month later. She was on the sidelines cheering on her squad as he was the star quarterback of his team. They were the perfect couple and now it was all being destroyed.
"You've become a dick, Scott Miller. Ever since you started hangin' around that Uncle of yours. When he turns his back on you, I'll be here with open arms to tell you 'I told you so'," she stated an unwavering look in her eye.
Scott wanted to take the words back. He wanted to keep moving forward with their future, but he knew a small part of Riggs was right. She was going to go off and be more famous than him. He wouldn't have a spot in her world anymore.
"I won't come back."

Taylor was shoving McDonald's chicken nuggets in her mouth, drenched in honey mustard sauce, while she scrolled through her emails. Her fans were begging her for more music, but after an exhausting tour, she just wanted some time to herself.
Most of them were junk emails, but one caught her eye.
It was from a popular YouTube channel called Tornado Wranglers, asking if they could do a collaboration. It was written as if she would never see it. Usually, things like this did slip through the cracks, but she couldn't help but look up their channel.
She couldn't help but get sucked into their video and watched almost all of them. They were daring and wild. Then in one of them, something happened to catch her eye.
"Hey Storm PAR. Get that data yet?" Boone yelled in the video, landing on a familiar grumpy face.
A smile bloomed as she looked at the face of her ex-boyfriend. From the email they had sent, Storm PAR was paired with Marshall Riggs, Scott's Uncle. She wasn't surprised he was in the business of buying out the land of the houses from those who lost everything.
