The night was settling in, casting a soft glow from the streetlights outside as Jude and Alexa made their way into her cozy living room. The air between them buzzed with a quiet excitement, a mix of anticipation and comfort in being together. Jude kicked off his shoes and collapsed onto the couch with a sigh, stretching out his long legs while Alexa went to the kitchen to grab them something to drink.
"Wine okay?" Alexa called from the kitchen, already rummaging through the fridge.
"Perfect," Jude replied, running a hand through his hair and leaning back against the cushions.
His eyes followed her as she moved about the kitchen, the sight of her relaxed and at home bringing a smile to his lips.
Alexa returned with two glasses of wine, handing one to Jude before settling down beside him on the couch. They clinked their glasses together, a silent toast to the simple pleasure of just being in each other's company.
"So, what are we doing tonight?" Jude asked, his voice casual but laced with curiosity.
Alexa took a sip of her wine, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Well, we could watch a movie... or play a game. But honestly, I kind of just want to hang out. Talk, laugh, maybe do something silly."
Jude grinned, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Something silly, huh? Like what?"
Alexa shrugged, setting her glass down on the coffee table. "I don't know. We could play 'Would You Rather' or have a pillow fight... or maybe try to out-weird each other."
Jude chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "Out-weird each other? That sounds like a challenge. You sure you can handle that?"
Alexa gave him a playful nudge. "Please, I was born weird. You're the one who should be worried."
Jude laughed, a deep, warm sound that made Alexa's heart flutter. He loved this side of her, the playful, carefree Alexa who wasn't afraid to let loose and be herself. "Alright, let's see what you've got," he said, setting his glass aside and turning to face her fully. "Hit me with your best shot."
Alexa tapped her chin, pretending to think hard. "Okay, here's one: Would you rather have to sing everything you say or dance everywhere you go?"
Jude snorted, clearly amused. "Easy. Dance everywhere I go. I've got some moves, you know."
Alexa rolled her eyes, laughing. "Sure, but would you still be saying that after dancing through a crowded street or down the grocery aisle?"
"Absolutely," Jude replied with a grin. "Besides, it's a great way to get people's attention."
Alexa shook her head, smiling. "Alright, your turn."
Jude thought for a moment, his eyes narrowing mischievously. "Would you rather have to wear clown shoes every day or a clown nose?"
