The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a golden hue over the city as Alexa made her way to the set of Fuego en el Alma.
Her mind was still buzzing from the night before, replaying the moments she had shared with Jude.
She couldn't help but smile to herself as she thought about how their relationship had evolved—how they had gone from barely tolerating each other to something so much deeper, more meaningful.
But today was about work. She had a full schedule ahead, with multiple scenes to shoot, and she was determined to give her best performance.
As she arrived at the set, the familiar hum of activity greeted her. Crew members were bustling about, adjusting lights, setting up cameras, and finalizing last-minute details. Alexa felt the usual thrill of being on set, the excitement of stepping into a character's shoes and bringing a story to life.
"Morning, Alexa!" called out one of the production assistants as she walked by.
"Morning!" Alexa replied with a smile, heading toward her trailer to drop off her things.
Inside, she found her costume already laid out—an elegant, fiery red dress that perfectly suited her character, Lucía, a passionate and conflicted woman caught between love and duty.
As she changed into her costume, her phone buzzed on the counter. She glanced at it and saw a message from Jude.
Cocky Athlete⚽️ Good luck today. You're going to be amazing. Can't wait to hear all about it tonight.
Alexa's heart warmed at the message, and she quickly typed a response:
Diva 💅🎀 Thank you! I'll need all the luck I can get.
The reply was almost instant.
Cocky Athlete⚽️ Knock 'em dead.
Smiling, Alexa slipped her phone into her bag and finished getting ready.
Once she was in costume, she made her way to the makeup trailer, where the makeup artists worked their magic, transforming her into Lucía.
When she finally stepped onto the set, Diego was already there, talking with the director, a script in his hand. He looked up as she approached, his expression neutral, but his eyes lingered on her just a moment longer than necessary. Alexa ignored the uneasy feeling that pricked at her skin and reminded herself that today was about professionalism.
"Alexa, there you are," the director, Maria, greeted her with a warm smile. "We're going to start with scene thirty-two today. Have you had a chance to go over it?"
Alexa nodded, taking the script from Maria. "Yes, I did. It's the scene where Lucía and Sergio finally confront their feelings for each other, right?"
"That's the one," Maria confirmed. "It's a pivotal moment in the film, so we're going to take our time with it. I want to really capture the tension and the emotion between you two."
