First Day of School

ɴᴏᴡ ᴘʟᴀʏɪɴɢ: Thuggish Ruggish Bone- Bone Thugs-N-Harmony 

Yesterday was a boring day and now we're here. It's Monday and it is my first day of school here in Freeridge. I got ready for school and got inside my car, before I started driving I saw Ruby,Jamal, and Monse waiting for Cesar outside. Cesar walked out and I rolled my window down. "Wanna ride?" They all looked at each other. "Sure"Cesar spoke up and they all walked to my car. "Are you sure you wanna give us a ride?" Ruby asked. "Why not? We're going to the same place aren't we? Or do Y'all go to school somewhere else?" "We're going to the same place." Cesar replied. "Alright then let's go." I started driving and asked them where I could park my car. We all got you and they thanked me for the ride. "Cesar, can you show me where the office is?" "Yeah, I'll catch up with you guys in a bit." He said to the others. They agreed and walked inside. Cesar walked me to the office and left to go find his friends. I talked to the lady at the front desk and answered a couple of her questions. She handed me my schedule and after being lost for five minutes straight I finally found my first class. I walked in and talked to the teacher, I told her who I was and she made me introduce myself to the class. "Great" I thought to myself. I introduced myself and she told me to sit in the third desk in the back row. "Hi, I'm Mario." The guy to my left said. "Hi, nice to meet you." "You're late" Ms.Ruiz said as she faced the door. "My bad" was all I heard before Oscar walked in. He sat next to me and Ms.Ruiz started teaching. He kept staring at me and finally I asked if he needed something. "Can I borrow a pencil." He can not be serious. "Sure" I took a pencil out of my bag and handed it to him. "Thanks." I nodded and went back to paying attention. "Luna, do you mind answering the second question?" HUH? I just got here and she already has me answering questions. I read the question and stared blankly at the board. "It's B" Oscar said from beside me. "Umm B" "Correct." "What class do you have next?" Oscar whispered. I hesitated. "Math" "Mr.Diaz" Oscar looked at her. "Since you keep talking to Luna you're going to show her around." "Right now?" He asked. "Yes, you have 15 minutes." Oscar put his things in his bag and so did I. He got up and I followed, he opened the door for me and we walked out of class. "So, how'd your dad lose his job?" I looked up at him. "Aren't you supposed to show me around?" "Yeah. Who said I wanted to?" "Alright then, I'll show myself around." "Relax Princesa, I'm just trying to get to know you." "Don't call me that, it's going to take more than a school tour and you asking for a pencil to get to know me. Plus you had the chance to get to know me when I would take Cesar home." He smirked. "I guess you're right but you never talked to me either." I looked up at him again and rolled my eyes. "I said Hi didn't I?" "Yeah but that wasn't exactly a conversation." "You never started one." I replied. "I am now." "Nice try Oscar, now show me around I ain't trying to get lost around here." "And if I don't?" "You won't get to know me." "Fine, but you can't walk too slow." I rolled my eyes again. Oscar showed me around and showed me how to get to my classes through the main hallways and the back hallways. "Thank you." "Whatever." The bell rang and before I could say anything else to him he was already gone. I went to my math class and Oscar walked in late just like he did last period. They were taking a test so the teacher told me to take a seat, he handed me a homework sheet and said that I could work on it right now. Since I was new he said I could turn it in on Tuesday since it was due this Friday. I thanked him and got started. I did the problems that I understood the most first and left the most difficult ones for later since we're going over the material on this packet this week during class. The bell rang and I went to my next class. History. I sat in the back and this girl sat next to me. "Hey, you must be new." "Yeah, I just got here." "I'm Gloria" "I'm Luna" "Nice to meet you Luna, what school did you transfer from?" "Brentwood" "Oh shit, you came from Brentwood? What brings you here? Sorry I'm a little bit of a chismosa pero don't worry you don't have to tell me if you don't want too." I smiled at her. Something tells me we're going to be great friends. "My dad's company was bought out, and he was told that the company was going to relocate to Colorado, he had a friend who worked for another company and said they were looking for someone to fill in for the same position he had where he worked, but that meant that we had to move." "Well ain't that some shit" She replied. "Tell me about it." "Why here though?" "My dad used to live here when he was younger, so I guess it was just familiarity with the area." "Well whatever the case is, something tells me that we're gonna be good friends." We smiled at each other. "Gloria, Luna please keep the talking to a minimum. Gloria would you mind catching her up on what we're working on?" Mr.bucher said. "Sure, we're working on a stupid slide. It's a group project but it's due on Thursday and we've been working on it since last week. I'm going to add you to my group but don't worry you don't have to do anything. Leti and I are pretty much done." "Thanks, are you sure you don't want me to do anything?" "Nah don't worry about it." "Thank you." I smiled. "Of course." The door opened and Mr.Bucher didn't look too happy. "Late again Leti you haven't gotten here on time since last week, one more tardy and I'll have to call home." Letty rolled her eyes. "Sorry Mr.Bucher I'll be on time tomorrow." "You said that last week." "For real this time." "Alright, sit in your seat and get to work." Leti rolled her eyes again and walked over to Gloria and I's table. "Hi I'm Luna." "Leti. Nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you too." Gloria and I caught her up on as to why I'm here now and we haven't stopped talking since. After looking at my schedule they told me that we had science together. We walked to class together and I talked to the teacher, she told me to sit at the table that was next to Gloria and Leti's table. Oscar walked in and sat next to me. "You sit here?" I asked "Duh" I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." Today we were going to do a lab so she had us sit in groups of four. "Gloria, Letty, Luna, and Oscar you're all going to work together." The girls and I smiled at each other. "Great" Oscar said as they joined our table. "Shut up Oscar" Gloria said. Oscar rolled his eyes and we waited for our instructions. Letty, Gloria and I did the experiment and he took notes. After what felt like forever he gave us the notes and we copied them. The bell rang and it was time for lunch. Gloria and Letty invited me to have lunch with them and I said yes. We walked to a food truck that was nearby and sat at the tables they had outside. Oscar walked out with a couple of guys and sat at a table across from ours, staring at me the whole time. "Damn Luna, he wants you" Gloria said. "Who?" I acted clueless "Oscar. He's been looking at you this whole time." Leti said. "Too bad" "Girl, you don't think he's cute?" Leti asked. "I didn't say that he wasn't but I don't want him to think it'll be that easy." They looked at me confused and I caught them up on how I knew him from before and what happened earlier. "Well Halloween is next week and The Santos throw a party every year, you should come with us." Gloria said. "I'll think about it." Lunch ended and I went to my last three classes. I got Letty and Gloria's numbers and drove home.
