The distant sound of beeping could be heard as Isla's mind slowly reenters a conscious state, her thoughts racing to remember what had happened to cause her confusion.

Muffled voices suddenly surrounded her as her eyes began to flutter open, a small groan leaving her lips as she tries to sit up.

"Woah there, just a second!"

A large hand is placed onto her back to help with her balance, the voices immediately coming to a stop, but Isla had already remembered where she's heard those voices before: in the alleyway.

Three large turtles stand in front of her, their names flashing in her mind as her eyes dance over each one.

"I wasn't dreaming..." She whispers in shock.

The one with the purple mask, Donnie, looks over a few wires that were attached around her arms and stomach, muttering to himself while glancing between a book in his hands. "Everything seems to be stable, but I don't know much about human bodies or pregnancies. I'm only able to refer to this book."

His voice was smooth as he talks to Isla, almost as if he was talking to a frightened animal in hopes of proving he wasn't a threat. The red-masked turtle, Raph, gives a deep sigh as he looks between his brother and the girl on the table.

"Now that she's better, let's get her outta here."

His deep voice shivers Isla to her core, he was definitely not someone to be messed around with, Leo rolls his eyes at his brother's words before stepping closer to Isla, keeping his hands raised when he noticed the way she flinched away from him.

"Don't worry miss, we're not going to hurt you. Right Raph."

The last bit of his sentence clearly directed towards his hot-headed brother with a slight growl in his tone, clearly making the point that his choice was not to be questioned. Raph raises his hands in surrender with a scoff leaving his lips.

The fourth turtle, Mikey, finally walks into the lab with a human sized rat beside him. Isla's eyes widen at the sight as the heart rate monitor begins to beep faster, his brothers quietly chastising him for telling their father about her.

The rat's eyes stare deep into Isla's, but something pulled her to trust him. Whether it be the calm way he held himself or the kindness in his eyes, she couldn't tell.

"So, you must be the one my son has told me about?"

Giving a quiet nod to his words, the rat nods in understanding, running his hand over his beard as he thought to himself. He takes in the situation Michelangelo had told him about, his eyes glancing between her stomach and her eyes.

"Don't worry, you and your child are safe here. My name is Splinter, and these are my sons: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. My sons will make sure no harm comes to you." The small smile she could see on his lips easily made her fear calm down, a soft 'thank you' leaves Isla's lips.

Splinter than turned around to face his sons, his eyes drifting across the four of them. "Make sure she gets home safe, we have plenty to talk about when you get home."

His voice was definitely filled with the tone of a stern father, one that even made Isla freeze slightly. The brothers look between each other with groans of displeasure as their father leaves the lab.

That had been about a month ago since Isla had officially met the four turtle brothers. They were reasonably suspicious of Isla in the beginning, so it felt nice to be able to gain their trust, even if Raph still claims that he doesn't believe her.

They each showed they cared in their own ways.

Mikey was definitely the life of the party between the brothers. Showing up sometimes in the middle of the night to enjoy a warm slice of Isla's homemade pizza, which was definitely his favourite.

Raphael, though standoffish, would enjoy sitting in Isla's apartment as he shows her how to knit, in return, she shows him a few of her favourite recipes. He even managed to knit her a baby blanket, he claims that it was because he didn't know what to do with it after the Hashi.

But her two favourites were the ones who doted on her the most.

Leo visited many times after patrol, but only if they had time before Splinter would catch them. He would always enjoy a cup of tea with her while they both read. He makes sure her tea cabinet is always full of green tea, as he heard it helps with pregnancies.

Donnie was a whole different ballpark, checking up on her as often as he can, making appointments with her to meet at the lair so he can check on her progress. He had a little calendar book on his hologram at all times, a small star on the previous day showing that Isla had past the six month mark.

It was one of those days, where Isla just got off the subway after visiting her actual doctor, no offense to Donnie. In her purse, she held little ultrasound photos for each turtle, Splinter, and herself, knowing that Mikey was the most excited.

The subway had barely left the station before a sudden commotion fills the small area, Isla's eyes widen when she's met with the barrel of a gun pressed between her eyes. She hands shakily raise as the man reaches out to shove her down,

"Stay on the ground and shut up!"
