Mother Dearest (TMNT 2014/2016 Poly)

Chapter Five

A loud alarm suddenly echoes through the lair, causing Isla to jolt awake from her dreamless slumber. Looking around, she finds herself tucked into Donnie's bed, a cup of water sitting on the bed-side table beside her. An explosion then fills her ears, causing her to quickly cover them from how loud it was.

Isla jolts at Leo running into the room, his eyes filled with worry as the alarm continues to blare. "Come on, we need to go. The lair's been infiltrated." Isla's mind was still foggy from sleep as he rips the blanket off of her to pick her up in his arms, fixing her to where he is carrying her with one arm, his other hand holding one of his katanas.

Isla's eyes observe her surroundings as Leo carries her out to where Mikey and Donnie were, the dust from the exploded concrete was still floating threw the air. Isla could feel her lungs already preparing to cough out the offending substance. Donnie looks down at her once Leo places her onto the ground between them, her mind wondering where Raph was before being interrupted by a pained grunt.

Looking over, Isla finds an armored man holding up Splinter by the collar of his robe. The three brothers around her rush to help their father, but he quickly stops them by closing the gate, effectively keeping them away from the dangerous man.

Rushing towards the three with a hand on her stomach, Isla watches as they begin to strain to lift the gate to help in any way they can. As Donnie uses his staff to open the gate, Isla finds two knives that had fallen from the weapons rack during the explosion. When she turned back towards the turtles, her eyes widen as she watches them drop their weapons onto the floor.

A group of men start heading towards the turtles behind their backs, and in a desperate attempt to help however she can, Isla rushes forward to stab the blades through the necks of two of the soldiers. The warm blood that quickly covered her hands made her feel ill, but she held it together while yanking them out, keeping the blades pointed towards the soldiers.

Donnie and Leo yell out her name, but she couldn't hear them as a scream suddenly breaks threw her lips, an electric intensity going through her body causes her to drop the knives before her knees give out.

Isla hurtles towards the ground, being caught by Leo trying to protect her head and stomach. His own grunts of pain could be heard as many other soldiers begin to electrocute him and his brothers. Isla's breathing was deep from the pain as Leo finally manages to rip out the metal that was causing the electric shocks into her body, keeping her close in his arms and away from the onslaught of the soldiers trying to rip her away from him.

Donnie begins to try and push away the soldiers, screaming both in pain and in worry about her and the baby's health.

The man still holding Splinter in the air watches the scene unfold curiously before a smirk overtakes his hidden features, calling over a soldier he whispers to him to grab the girl. He's sure Sacks would find a use for her in his experiments with mutagen...after all, it's never been tested on a fetus before.

Leo, growing weak from the constant shocks, feels Isla being ripped away from him as two other soldiers grab her from under her arms, dragging her limp body away from the yelling brothers. Their screams only got louder as they watch their father being punched and dropped like he was garbage.

Isla's lidded eyes glance up at the armored man with as much of a glare as she could muster while spitting out a mixture of blood and saliva at his feet, but this doesn't faze him as he begins to walk out of the entrance they made. Isla feels herself being dragged as the three brothers are being corralled behind her by electric shocks.

Isla could hear the brother's calling out to each other and to her, but everything just felt too fuzy.
