Killua and I got to sleep in that morning. It was great. When we did wake up, we weren't needed for another couple of hours so we just layed in bed watching tv. Our room was on the edge of the airship so we got a pretty good view too.
"Y/n, you know we have to be ready in two hours right?" Killua asked as he sat up from the bed.
I hummed and got up to look out the window. The sun was setting now and the sky was painted a vibrant pink. I remember a very similar view from our hunters exam. I heard Killua get out of bed and his footsteps. Well, rather the lack of. He snaked his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Killua do you even know where we have to go for our phase?" I asked quietly. He hummed a response.
"You'll be delighted to know that we're headed to Zevil island." I could see his grin grow in the reflection of the window and smiled as well. The mention of Zevil island brought back lots of memories. Like that time we played in the lake and slept behind the waterfall. Or the tree that we carved our names into when we were kids. Maybe we'd have enough time to go visit the old spot.
Killua leaned in slowly a placed a kiss on my neck. I could practically hear his thoughts so I elbowed him in the ribs. Perv. He wheezed and let go of me.
"Geez, you're a lot stronger than you were when we were twelve."
I rolled my eyes and ruffled his hair, stepping towards the bathroom. "Alright dickwad, I'm going to go shower."

************
"Ok, is it just me or am I starting to sympathize with Menchi from our third phase?" Killua asked as he crossed his arms.
It was a miracle I was still able to hear him over all the yelling between the contestants. If that was the right word for them. Right now they seemed to more like children. Speaking of, that's what they were arguing about.
As per usual the exam consisted of mainly bulky middle aged men with the exception of a few older and a few younger here and there. Anyways, their argument was that they wouldn't go against children, i.e- me and Killua. Which was pretty illogical anyways. We were clearly young adults.
I huffed and nodded in agreement with Killua's statement.
"Alight! I've had enough of this bullshit! You either arm wrestle us or you're disqualified. End of story." I yelled out over the crowd, effectively shutting them up. I looked to Killua for his comment and he simply tipped his imaginary hat to me. I smiled at the gesture and clasped my hands together.
"Wonderful! Now, if you'd please make a single file line in front of whichever of us you'd like to go against. Once you're all settled we'll begin." I spoke in a cheerful yet slightly threatening voice to get the point across.
After that Killua and I nodded at each other before sitting down at our respective tables.
Almost immediately a long line grew in front of my table just as I suspected it would. Only the bulkiest and dumbest of men wanted to go against Killua. I suppose they were above facing a woman.
As the time passed on I noticed myself yawning more and more often. Though I never struggled to beat any of my opponents. It was beginning to get dark as well so some torches were lit. Killua had finished off his line hours ago and sat next to me typing away on his phone. I ignored it though and just kept going, determined to finish soon so that we could visit the lake.
The crowd dwindled to the few people who I'd let win and maybe a few who actually did beat me. I'll never tell though, my ego simply wouldn't allow it. Eventually the line shortened to around two people left when I finally inquired about who Killua was texting.
"It's Alluka," he said- "I've been texting her for nearly an hour and she won't respond. I even tried calling." I could see the stress and worry building up on Killua's face as the thought hit me.
I had yet to see Alluka at the exam. She'd completely slipped my mind. How could I forget something like that? She could've failed the first phase or worse! No, Gon would've made sure she's alright, I'm sure of it. The second phase though....
I quickly slammed my opponents hand down onto the table and accidentally dislocated his wrist. He cried out in pain but I ignored him and shooed him away.
Luckily my worries were instantly silenced when the final person in line sat down and I saw a familiar grin. It was the same one I'd snuck out of hotels with a few times to go to 7/11 at two in the morning.
Alluka had a hood on so we wouldn't recognize her immediately but Killua did. His eyes lit up and he sat straighter but didn't say anything. Hopefully because he didn't want to blow her cover. If anyone figured out that Alluka was a direct relation of one of the examiners there'd be a riot.
I smiled back at her and lined up my arm to wrestle her. She did the same. Now, you'd think I would just let her win, and you'd be right. Though, I was gonna make her work for it a little bit, y'know, give her a hard time? I have to hand it to her though she was a lot stronger than she was last time I'd seen her. That training with Bisky really paid off.
Once we were finished and Alluka joined the other people who passed, Killua and I stood up.
"Ok then, this is where we leave you all, good luck with the rest of the exam!" I smiled and waved to all of them whilst Killua just smiled and waved at Alluka. Understandable, considering he didn't pass a single applicant.
Without a second to spare the fourth phase examiner emerged from the bushes and began speaking to the applicants. Killua and I made eye contact and grinned, having the same thought.
It was time to take a trip down memory lane!
