It's already the fourth day, and you've found yourself clinging to the hope that Alfred was gullible enough to believe your story before you went to visit Ivan. With Ivan back at work, you've been left alone, determined to finish the scarf you've been working on. After two days of focused effort, you've nearly completed it, with just the embroidery on the right end remaining. You decided on a simple sunflower design—nothing too intricate—because you're eager to wrap this up quickly.
After four hours of painstaking work, you've finally finished the sunflower embroidery. Your hands ache, and your back is sore, but the sense of accomplishment makes it all worthwhile. You carefully fold the scarf and tuck it away in Ivan's bedside drawer, leaving a note that reads, "Surprised! I was bored while you were away, so I thought I'd make you something."
As you close the drawer with a smile, you take a moment to absorb the details of the room. The walls are clad in wood veneers, giving a warm, rustic feel. A shelf filled with books stands beside Ivan's closet. The bed, covered in matching red sheets and a thick, intricately designed blanket, features a sunflower pattern that mirrors the one you've just embroidered. The pillows are white, also adorned with sunflower stitching. You realize how much you'll miss this place when it's time to return and deceive Alfred about your so-called adventure with your parents—when, in reality, you've been with Ivan all along.
You decide to lie down for a moment, sinking into the softness of the bed, and stare up at the ceiling, lost in thought. Gradually, you drift off to sleep, only to be gently awakened by Ivan. He seems to have been waiting for this moment, as you feel him softly playing with your hair. "Ivan... what about your work?" you ask, still drowsy.
"Do not worry, my sunflower. I took the day off," Ivan replies, his voice warm and reassuring. "I thought perhaps we could spend the afternoon together on a little date, da?"
A wave of anxiety washes over you at his suggestion. "But Ivan, isn't it risky? What if we're seen? If Alfred's spies spot us and report back to him..." Your voice trails off, the fear evident in your tone.
Ivan gently shakes his head, a reassuring smile on his lips. He tucks a stray strand of hair behind your ear, his touch lingering as he caresses your cheek. "I'd know if there were spies around, my dear. You'll be with me, and I'll protect you, da?"
His confidence soothes your nerves, and you nod, trusting him completely. You decide to get ready for the outing, but a new dilemma arises—should you dress casually or opt for something more formal and elegant? After some deliberation, you decide to match your outfit with Ivan's.
You choose a lilac coat, your favorite white dress underneath, paired with black tights and your beloved boots. For a finishing touch, you apply a bit of makeup, feeling a flutter of excitement. After all, this is your first date with Ivan.
You take a deep breath and, with a confident smile, say to Ivan, "I'm ready... Shall we?" You're fully aware of how stunning you look, and it's clear Ivan knows it too. His face flushes with a hint of pink as he tries to keep his composure, his hand instinctively resting on his chest as if to stop his heart from leaping out. After a moment, he finally speaks, his voice soft and full of admiration, "My sunflower... you are beautiful..."
His words send a warm, fluttering sensation through you, and you can't help but blush. As your eyes meet his, you notice how handsome he looks, as always. Dressed in his signature purple coat and familiar white scarf, he seems effortlessly charming. A thought crosses your mind, wondering how long it will be before he discovers the gift you've hidden in his nightstand.
With a playful smile, you slip your arm through his, leaning into him slightly. Ivan's smile broadens, clearly charmed by your gesture, finding it both endearing and utterly adorable.
