4.3 ~ Identity Revelation - The Aftermath

A/N: This is the final part in the Identity Revelation series. Initial focus is on the Goenka House. Then it will be between Manish and Abhira and will end with Manish's redeeming his mistakes and parallelly show a grand AbhiMaan wedding.

"Manish Ji, you promised to put Ruhi over Akshara-"

"ENOUGH SWARNA. AREY, AKSHARA TOOK THE BLAME FOR RUHI, DIDN'T YOU HEAR THAT?"

"Manish Ji, are you believing Abhir's words? Akshara is his Maa too, so he can defend her. Also, he fought with Ruhi and left."

"You're suggesting that Abhir lied to all of us just because he fought with Ruhi? Swarna, he's an adult, not a kid. And he is Akshu's son, so he won't do such cheap things."

"So, you're telling me, that Ruhi does cheap things?"

"Yes, Didi. Arey she broke Armaan and Abhira's marriage, now she wants to do the same. All of us knew that you let Ruhi marry Rohit to stay close to Armaan. That day when she said that she would die when Armaan marries Abhira with Kaveri's permission, instead of scolding her you were consoling her, Didi. Whatever it is, Armaan was a married guy and Ruhi wanting him by breaking his marriage is wrong."

Ruhi was a mute spectator.

"Ruhi, tum saaf saaf bologi, sach bologi, did you talk to Armaan after the engagement or during sangeet?"

"Yes, P-nanu."

"What did you guys talk?"

"We cleared the air of misunderstanding, and I convinced him to reveal to everyone about our relationship. He said 'okay' but backed off at the last moment and asked me to proceed with the wedding."

"Armaan has betrayed-"

"What misunderstanding both of you had, Ruhi?"

"He didn't come to the date because he had to go to Mussoorie for a case, and I thought he was cheating me when Abhira picked the phone and said that Armaan didn't want to talk to anyone, and he agreed to it too."

"How did you assume that Abhira was his girlfriend? Did she tell that to you?"

"No, but-"

"You thought that he cheated on you, when Abhira didn't even say that she was his girlfriend. You assumed that and agreed to marry Rohit. This mess was brought upon you by your choices, beta. I'm sorry to say, but neither Armaan nor Abhira ruined your life, but your choices did. You should've moved on from Armaan, which you didn't do. Rohit loved you with all his heart, at least you should've respected his feelings by forgetting Armaan."

"P-nanu, I tried to forget him, but after Rohit's disappearance, he talked kindly, casually and did cheer me up and I thought-"

"You AGAIN thought that he was still in love with you. Arey, he was married, he fought for Abhira, all of us have witnessed it. How did you even think that Armaan would do the same, Ruhi? He dropped you like a hat when you asked him to break your marriage with Rohit. Why didn't you understand this? Why did you decide to go behind him? I know he might've said something to console you, but that is damage control. You should've understood."

Ruhi doesn't respond, but runs upstairs to her room.

"Manish Ji, why are you hurting her like this? Already she has faced a lot-"

"What has she faced, Didi? Apart from Aarohi's death, Abhimanyu, Abhir and Akshara leaving the house, what else she has faced?"

"Rohit left her once, Armaan broke her heart twice, Surekha. Can't you see?"
