Reincarnated in a Isekai World.

Chapter 2: The Mansion

After a few hours of walking in the woods, according to the Oden system now it's 6:00 pm in the Isekai world's timezone. The skies were getting darker and darker, I knew I had to find a shelter since there might be wild beasts that would hunt for humans to eat.

As I slowly creeped out from the dark and pulled the bows staring tightly, I slowly put the night vision binoculars closer to my eyes so I could check the distance of the smoke and look at my surroundings in the dark.

Meanwhile, when I look directly at the source of the smoke, it turns out there was a camp or an outpost of the knights who belong to this world. When I adjusted the night vision binoculars, I could see 20 knights were guarding the outpost. Some were holding muskets that had a bayonet attached to them while the others were holding swords. As soon as I made closer observations, I could see a man and a woman sitting on a log having conversations with each other. I assume they were a noble family since they were wearing elegant clothes that were found from the Victorian period. This observation is interesting because it proved to us that in the parallel universe, people were now in the steam age, this shows they might have invented trains and steamboats.

"I didn't know what to do, I put the roof on my head and I put the food on the table," One of the knights who was holding a musket talks to the other soldier while they are patrolling.

Then rusting sounds could be heard from a nearby distance, as I spy on the soldiers with my night vision binoculars. Without hesitation, the knights dashed towards the source where the sounds came from.

"Dang, I guess they've got company," I smirk as I grip my bow tightly and prepare to aim for any unwanted guest," I guess I'll hunt in the dark like a hunter."

While the 2 knights were distracted by the rustling sounds, suddenly men in dark cloaks sneaked out from the bush and restrained the 2 knights. As I observe the process of how the men in dark cloaks ambush the knights, suddenly a large yell could be heard in the camp.

"AMBUSH! WE'VE GOT AMBUSH! MAINTAIN THE DEFENSIVE LINE NOW!" one of the knights shouts as he pulls out his sword and prepares to battle.

"This might be an ambush," I think to myself.

As more and more men in cloaks surround and attack the camp, just when I decided that I should probably stay away from the battle. Suddenly I could feel someone tapping my shoulders softly, I quickly slapped him in the face and shouted," Screw you! You think you can ambush me like that?"

I quickly realised  that that man was one of the members who wore black cloaks, just when I thought I was about to die. I quickly slapped him again," DUDE, STOP THAT! IT'S RUDE TO SCARE SOMEONE IN THE DARK YOU KNOW. Geez I thought you were some kind of ghost."

Without hesitation, the man in the dark cloak tackled me down. I could feel like I could pass out at any time as my view became dark and blurry.

As I slowly woke up, my surroundings were warm and bright. The room looked fancy and cozy, its walls were painted cyan and the bookshelves were full of books. Did I die? Did I reincarnate into a rich family? Or did I get kidnapped by some strangers? When I look at myself again, what once resembled a cammo suit was replaced by fancy pants and I don't have a shirt, except my stomach and my chest were wrapped by the same old bandages that I used from my self-revive kit.

Just when I tried to stand up with my sore and tired legs, suddenly I heard a mysterious voice from my left side," Sir, the kid was awake, you better check it out!"

She was wearing a black fabric dress and a white apron. Her hair was curly and blonde.

"Oh god heavens, what happened again?" I ask as I glare at her with confusion, I didn't expect I would end up in a mysterious room with a stranger in front of me," Wait wait, hold on, did I get passed out?"
