After the new kid Alex encouraged me to join the sword fighting competition, I felt like I was influenced by his compliments.
What if I didn't run? What if I'm not a coward? What if I could gain my reputation? Or what if I want to prove to everyone that Caytlin cheated on the sword fighting competition? Then I must prove my strength and courage to prove to everyone that I didn't cheat in the sword fighting competition.
As I walked peacefully down the school halls, what once used to be a loud and chaotic wall of eyes has been replaced by: silence.
Soon, I spotted a familiar girl with a bow in her head: Ruby Winters. She was huddled in a ball at a corner beside the lockers, as I gently approached her. Her eyes were fixed on me as she was clenching her jaw.
I put my hands on my hips, "So let me guess, did you get kicked out of the student council?"
"It's all your fault you MAGGOT! Because of you, I was kicked out from the student council!" Ruby tightens her grip, " You MAGGOT! I'll make you pay and ruin your reputation just like how Caytlin did."
"Ruby, this time I think I'll make you pay for all the actions you've done to me," I tightened my grip on my sabre that was stored in the scabbard and walked towards the training room ," You shouldn't have slammed my face you know?"
"Silence you maggot!" Ruby clutching her bag and hurries away.
"Ruby," I paused my voice," I think you should reflect on your mistakes that you've made today. If you didn't slam my face into the plate of food scraps, you still get to be a student council secretary. Now you embarrass yourself in front of other students."
"GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE...... forget about it."
The sound of despair and weeping echoed through the corridors, my heart raced through my mind as I am about to accept any type of challenge.
What once used to be a clean and fancy room has become a loud and badass frontline. Some decided to practice how to swing their sword's while others decided to use magic and chaos. While I was walking towards a dummy doll with my sabre stored in the scabbard, I could hear every kid chattering about me. But a slim boy with a messy hairstyle caught my attention with his weapon, it was Alex and it seems he was swinging a long wooden stick. At first he seems to be holding a fancy cane, but why would a random person bring a stupid cane to the arena?
While I had my eyes locked on the cane, Alex had his hand gripped on the handle.
Without a blink of an eye, what once used to resemble a cane has turned into a sword. Maybe I was a bit dumbfounded because this sword must be disguised as a cane in order to trick enemies, maybe he's a noble who tries to keep himself low profile.
Then Alex seems to notice my presence and smiles," Oh hey there Rose, it seems you are practicing your sword skills for the upcoming sword fight competition eh?"
"Yep, I've decided I should join the sword fighting competition," I returned a smile to Alex.
"So wanna practice our sword skills together?"
It's been two years since I haven't practiced my sword skills with other classmates after Caytlin slandered me for cheating in the sword fighting competition, I assume most of my classmates stayed away from me since they think I only care about obtaining badges and awards. Since I was tired of practicing my sword skills alone by whacking my sabre at the dummy doll, I nod without hesitation," sure, I'll guess that would work."
Just when Alex tried to walk towards me, suddenly he collapsed onto the ground and dropped his sword cane. I looked at the poor boy and giggled.
"Ah man, that was a mistake.... I didn't expect I would get tripped by someone's round lead ball that they dropped accidentally while they tried to reload their muskets," Alex mutters, embarrassed.
