When Si Nian becomes vicious, even the mean aunties in the village have to stay away from him
An Qi couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh, "If you're reacting, that means you're not broken."
Nie Yan Feng shot her a speechless glance, thinking how thick-skinned this woman was.
"Captain Nie, you better be careful too! Don't let yourself be tempted by beauty and fall into a trap," An Qi warned him with good intentions.
But Nie Yan Feng had no need to worry about that. From beginning to end, no woman had ever attracted him—except, of course, the one standing in front of him now.
An Qi was about to move her arm when a sharp pain suddenly shot through her shoulder blade, making her hiss, "Ow! That hurts!"
It was the same arm that Nie Yan Feng had grabbed in a hurry earlier, pulling her so forcefully that it strained her muscles.
"Don't move, let me take a look," Nie Yan Feng said as he approached, gently holding her wrist and rotating her shoulder joint. The joint was fine, but it seemed she had strained a tendon.
"Just rest for a few days, and you'll be fine," Nie Yan Feng reassured her as he released her hand.
An Qi nodded but couldn't help sneaking another glance at a certain spot. Suddenly, Nie Yan Feng flicked her on the forehead.
"What's so interesting?" he lightly scolded in his deep voice.
An Qi rubbed her sore forehead and took a step back, "Who wants to look at that anyway? It's not even nice to look at."
Nie Yan Feng, speechless, just stared at her.
Without another word, An Qi turned and headed toward the door, as if being around Nie Yan Feng always put her in a bad mood.
At the entrance to the back of the base, a black SUV pulled in. The doors opened, and a young couple stepped out. The man was dressed in trendy clothes, while the woman wore a tight, sexy dress. Both looked around, clearly bewildered.
"Are we really going to live here?" the woman asked, her tone full of disdain.
"Zuo An'an, Li Xiangchao, you'll be staying here for a while. For your own safety, please follow all the rules here. Once it's safe, we'll notify you," the man in charge said sternly before leading them toward a door.
Zuo An'an bit her lip, clearly unhappy. She punched the man beside her and grumbled, "This is all your fault."
The man, also looking helpless, tried to soothe her, "Alright, alright. We just need to stay here for a while, and we'll be safe."
As Zuo An'an and Li Xiangchao settled into their new surroundings, Zuo An'an was eager to explore. She ventured out to the playground, her curiosity piqued by the unfamiliar environment.
Suddenly, her attention was drawn to a figure approaching from the direction of the flower beds. The figure was a young man, tall and handsome, with a strong, chiseled profile and deep-set eyes that conveyed a rare masculine allure. His commanding presence immediately captivated her.
Li Xiangchao, noticing her distraction, followed her gaze and said, "Looks like someone's caught your eye."
Zuo An'an, still mesmerized, replied, "He's striking. I wonder who he is."
Zuo An'an's heart skipped a beat as she realized she had encountered such an exceptional man here. Unlike ordinary men, he exuded a distinguished aura despite his youth. His presence was undeniably elite, and even the elder who interacted with him showed considerable respect.
Who is he? What level of status does he hold? Zuo An'an's mood lightened at the thought; at least she could get to know this handsome man better. Perhaps, in the future, there might even be a story between them. Zuo An'an, with her restless nature and ambition, couldn't help but be intrigued.
She noticed a young team member nearby and quickly smiled, asking, "Hi, could you tell me who that person is?"
"That's our Captain Nie," the team member replied.
