I wake up in a white bed, with Elvish Healers surrounding me.
"Where am I ?" I ask, sitting up groggily. "Who brought me here?"
A healer named Hana smiles.
"My Lady, you were brought here by Legolas last night. " she gets some kingsfoil, and starts to make a healing medicine.
Legolas brought me here? "Why that stupid, son of a-" I start to say, but she brings her finger to my lips.
"He brought you here when you had fainted. He was rather upset. You were muttering in your sleep about some girl kissing him." I nod my head, thinking about the memory that brings back tears.
"I hate him for kissing that girl. It was my birthday, and he had to ruin it." I wipe a stray tear.
"He was drunk...and the Elleth was drunk. It wasn't his fault. He loves you, he really does... Maybe you should talk to him." Hana says, smiling sadly.
I nod and get out of bed. "Maybe I should."

Legolas practices his archery. I stand from far off, admiring each one of his releases. Each arrow hits the target dead in the center. Beautiful. Even I couldn't do that so good. I stand away from him, but he turns and sees me anyways.
He backs away, raising his hands in defense. His eyes give me a pleading look, just the way they did when I caught him kissing her. Tears fill my eyes, and I then and rush out of the palace gardens. I enter the castle, ignoring the strange glances I get from maids and guards. When I enter my room, I flop down on my bed, and let a few tears roll down my cheeks. My pillow soon becomes damp with my tears, and I close my eyes drifting of into a deep sleep.
"Alianna, do you want to go play?" Legolas asks, his crystal blue eyes, glowing with excitement. I nod my head eagerly, and I take his hand. We set off, running into the forest, with our small bows and arrows.
"Look!" Legolas gasps, pointing to a tree. "Orc!" His eyes turn from happiness, to fright.
"Legolas, that is only a tree. " I say giggling slightly. My best friend can be such a goofball.
"Yes, Mellon, I know. But what if, when we are older, an Orc comes? We should know how to fight it! " I nod my head.
"Let's attack the Orc." We knock arrows in our bows, and release. We giggle slightly, as we see the tree get hit with arrows.
Suddenly, as quick as lightning, Legolas pounces on top of me.
"Arggh!" He cries out. "I'm a Warg! You better run away from me, otherwise I will eat you up in one gulp!" I squeal with delight, and roll on top of him. Then I hop off and run to the kingdom, with him at my tail. We reach the palace, slightly out of breath. We enter the palace gardens- where I can see some roses.
Legolas smiles brightly, before picking one from the bush, and carefully handing it to me.
"For you, My Lady. A rose of magical powers. It will heal you when you are hurting inside." I bush madly.
"Thank you, Mellon. I will cherish it forever."
I wake up, shaking with happiness. We were so young and giddy. I jump from bed, and start looking through my drawers. I find the leather bound journal I have kept since I was a small child.
I flip through pages that are weathered and old. They seem to be coming out. A single dry petal falls out. I pick it up, and smell it. It is still fresh. After two thousand years. I flip to the page I put the rose in. It lays flat, its petals dry, and shriveled.
I kept the rose. I kept it. Surely, someone would have thrown it away years ago if they receive a rose. But I kept it. I still care for Legolas.
