Bruce Wayne parked his sleek black car and took a deep breath, adjusting his suit jacket. Tonight was a big step, one that carried the weight of his deepest hopes and fears.

Bruce approached the front door, his mind racing with the gravity of the moment. As he rang the doorbell, he felt a mix of anticipation and nervousness. The door opened to reveal Martin Carter, Nina's father, who greeted him with a friendly but curious smile.

"Mr. Carter," Bruce began, his voice steady despite the fluttering in his chest. "Good evening."

"Ah, Bruce," Martin said, extending a hand. "Come in. I wasn't expecting you tonight."

Bruce shook his hand firmly and stepped inside. The interior of the house was cozy and welcoming, filled with the warmth of family photos and mementos. Jackie Carter emerged from the kitchen, her face lighting up with recognition.

"Bruce, what a pleasant surprise!" Jackie said, her tone warm and inviting. "Would you like some coffee or tea?"

"No, thank you," Bruce replied, appreciating her hospitality. "I actually came by for a different reason."

Martin raised an eyebrow, sensing the seriousness in Bruce's demeanor. "Alright, what's on your mind?"

Bruce took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "I wanted to speak with you both about something important—something that's been on my mind for a while now."

Jackie and Martin exchanged a curious glance, their expressions shifting to one of attentive interest. Bruce continued, his voice steady but filled with emotion.

"I've been with Nina for some time now, and in that time, I've come to realize just how deeply I care for her. She's been a source of strength for me, and I can't imagine my life without her."

Martin's gaze remained focused, his expression a mixture of evaluation and curiosity. Jackie looked at Bruce with a mix of warmth and cautious optimism.

Bruce hesitated for a moment, then took out a small, elegant box from his pocket. He opened it to reveal a stunning diamond ring, its brilliance reflecting the soft light of the room.

"I'm here tonight to ask for your blessing to marry Nina," Bruce said, his voice carrying a note of earnest hope. "I want to spend the rest of my life with her, and I hope that you can support this decision."

Jackie's eyes widened, her hand covering her mouth in surprise. Martin's gaze softened as he looked at the ring and then back at Bruce.

"This is a significant step," Martin said, his tone measured. "Nina is a strong and independent woman. She's always been our pride, and it's clear that you care for her deeply."

Jackie reached out, placing a comforting hand on Bruce's shoulder. "You have our blessing, Bruce. We're happy to see Nina with someone who cares for her as much as you do."
