Do Some Animals Sense Better Art Than We Do? Poem.

We marvel at landscapes, in colors so grand,
A sunset’s last whisper, the touch of the sand,
In music that whispers or crashes like waves,
In paintings and sculptures and the stories they save.
We savor sweet flavors, perfumes fill our air,
Our senses declare this a world without compare.

But what of the creatures with senses more keen?
Who taste on the wind all the places we’ve been?
The hawk that soars high, with its vision so true,
Sees detail and color beyond our dull view.
The dolphin that sings in the ocean’s embrace,
Hears symphonies hidden from the human race.

The dog that can smell every secret we hide,
In scents tells a tale that our eyes would deride.
The bat that can see in the echoing dark,
Paints pictures with sound, a sonar-born spark.
The bee that finds flowers through patterns unseen,
Sees ultraviolet in a meadow so green.

Do these beings find art in a realm we can’t know?
Do they dream of a beauty we’re unable to show?
Are their senses attuned to a world more divine,
A canvas of wonders we can’t call as mine?
Do they hear in the night a music so sweet,
That our instruments fail, and our hearts skip a beat?

And what of the others beyond this night sky,
The beings we ponder with curious eye?
Do they sculpt with their senses a world of their own,
With hues we can’t fathom, in sounds unknown?
Do they taste on their tongues the edge of a star,
Or dance to the rhythm of a quasar's guitar?

We’re prisoners here in our senses so tight,
Locked in perceptions that limit our sight.
But might we one day, with AI’s embrace,
Find new ways to feel, to see, to taste?
Might virtual realms and computer-born dreams
Unlock the enchantments beyond what we deem?

In worlds made of data, our senses reborn,
Might we see new sunsets and marvel at dawn?
Will we smell the cosmos, or hear distant time,
Or taste a new music, or see the sublime?
For now, we are tethered, confined as we are,
But we yearn to see beauty that’s just past the stars.
