So yeah, she accepted me. I couldn't be more thrilled. The moment I saw the notification pop up on my phone, my heart practically leaped out of my chest. I felt like I'd just won the lottery or had my biggest wish come true. I could hardly believe it—Lexie, the girl who had completely captivated my thoughts, had just added me as a friend. It was surreal.
I found myself grinning from ear to ear, unable to stop the wave of happiness that washed over me. I was practically buzzing with excitement. As I tried to wind down for the night, I couldn't resist the urge to relive the day's moments. I pulled up the fancam I'd recorded earlier, eager to watch it again. The video played on a loop, showing Lexie's every move, every smile, every graceful gesture. I replayed it over and over, my smile growing wider with each pass.
Eventually, the excitement of the day and the comfort of seeing Lexie's performance one last time lulled me into a peaceful sleep. As I drifted off, I held onto the memory of the day, my last thoughts filled with the anticipation of seeing Lexie again and the thrill of our new connection.
However, on the last day of our Foundation Week, while we were having a great time and enjoying the festivities, I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. I had yet to see Lexie. I scanned the crowd, hoping to catch a glimpse of her familiar figure, but she was nowhere to be found. Maybe she hadn't come today, or perhaps she wasn't feeling well. The thought of her missing from the celebration cast a slight shadow over my day.
While we were sitting in the canteen, enjoying our food, I decided to share my latest news with my friends. I tried to sound nonchalant, but I could barely contain my excitement. "Guess what, guys? We're friends now! I added Lexie last night, and she actually accepted my friend request."
Angel's eyes widened in shock. "No way! Are you serious? You actually did it?"
Gab stared at me, slack-jawed. "Wait, I didn't think you'd actually go for it."
Mina shook her head in disbelief, her eyes still wide. "Wow, Trish, you're unstoppable."
I couldn't help but smile at their astonished reactions. Despite my concern over not seeing Lexie, sharing the news of our new friendship with my friends felt like a small victory.
Just when the day's festivities were about to wind down, I was walking out of the auditorium, feeling exhausted and restless. As I made my way toward the exit, Gab suddenly grabbed my arm, pulling me to a halt. "Trish, wait up!" she called out.
I turned around, and my heart nearly stopped. There, right beside me, was Lexie. She had somehow appeared out of nowhere, walking casually alongside me. My mind went blank, and I'm sure my face displayed the most bewildered expression. I couldn't believe it—Lexie, the girl I had been thinking about non-stop, was right here, walking next to me.
As soon as we stepped outside, I turned to Gab, my voice tinged with panic. "Why did you have to call me like that? I was so shocked! I must have looked so stupid."
Angel nudged me playfully. "You know, Trish, you were practically on a mission to find her all day."
Gab laughed, "Yeah, you were so focused on spotting Lexie that you didn't even notice us teasing you about it."
Mina grinned, adding, "And then, just when you finally see her, you're so caught off guard that you end up looking like you've seen a ghost."
I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks. "It's just—ugh, I was not prepared for that. I hope she didn't see me looking like an idiot. I was so caught off guard, I probably looked like a total dork."
My friends, having overheard my anxious rambling, couldn't help but burst into laughter. Angel and Mina exchanged amused glances while Gab tried to stifle her giggles.
