Dorothy's point-of-view

"Today was the day," I say to myself jumping out of my bed early in the morning. In just 6 hours I'll finally become Mrs. Nozel Silva. Mrs. Dorothy Silva. Butterflies swell in my chest and overwhelm me at the thought. I have been in my sleep state for the past few days but I made sure to be fully away for today. I didn't even want to blink today at the risk of missing a single moment. I was wide awake even without the help of coffee. I've waited tirelessly for five years to announce our relationship and four more months to get to this exact day.

Golden sunlight filtered through the wall of windows into the grand bridal chamber the Silva family had prepared for me, which would become their marital bedroom after tonight. It was in the beautifully renovated wind of the estate for Nozel and Dorothy's family. It had a beautiful stone feature wall, a California king-sized bed, a grand fireplace, velvet blue canopy bed curtains, a large attached bathroom and closet, and enough room for a crib and baby things. The entire wing was a beautiful blend of their tastes and favorite colors.

A soft knock interrupts me as some maid rushes in before I can invite them in, carrying my wedding dress followed by my make-up artist and hairdresser Nedra sneaking in close behind them"Captain Dorothy," she said with a playful grin, "Or should I say sister-in-law-to-be? Are you ready to start getting dressed? Have you taken a bath first? The maids can help with that while the others set up their equipment."

I laugh, her teasing and command of the situation put me at ease. Nozel's siblings' willingness to help her plan their wedding day was a sign of their acceptance of her into their family. "Nebra, you're lucky I adore you. Otherwise, I'd send you straight into my dream realm for calling me 'Captain' on my wedding day. None of that magic knight talk today. "

She smirks. "Fair enough. But you'll have to catch me first. Now, come on! Into the tub while it is still hot. We are on a tight time limit today. You need to get it all done, not go." She commands, pointing to the bathroom I do as I'm told and do my best to keep up with all the commands and requests as I get washed, shaved, moisturized, plucked, styled, made up, and dressed.

"Is this real?" I murmur, looking at myself in the mirror as my veil is adjusted for the final time and I'm handed my bouquet. "It feels like a dream."

"It's real," Noelle chimes in, having joined them two hours ago to prepare for her role as a bridesmaid alongside Nebra. "Nozel isn't the type to back out, even if he is probably pacing somewhere like a caged lion right now."

I giggle at the thought. Knowing Nozel, he probably was.

"He loves you," states Nebra, "He knows you are worth waiting 5 years for and he isn't stupid enough to mess it up now."
