The Too Late Bloomer

I sit on Hyunjin's bed as he's showing me pictures of their lives back in Korea and all the places he described, the people he met, and the opportunities he's had...It all just made me yearn for yet another new start. But again...How long could I even stay hidden in a new place? Ryan found me relatively fast compared to how long I've been here. Even with a restraining order, that wouldn't keep him from trying to find other people to do his bidding for him...

"Oh, this one's cute! You both look so young there..." I say to Hyunjin, holding up one of the Polaroids he gave me to look at.

"Yeah. Me and I.N...We were out to get food and stopped to take a picture. The flowers were really pretty. This was before Noisy came out." He chuckles and smiles widely at the picture in my fingers. He takes it into his own hands and stares at it longer. "Some times I miss being this young, but I also think I'm a better person now than I was then. So, I'm okay getting older too."

"I think about the same thing some times too, but I definitely feel like I'm better off now also. The past can be bad, but it can mean you're better for it afterwards. You know?" I smile lightly at him and he nods with a soft gaze into my eyes. He leans forward on one hand and gets a few inches closer to me.

His expression puzzled me and I couldn't tell what he was thinking, but his mannerisms told me exactly what I needed to know. I adjust my posture on the bed and sit up straight, clearing my throat nervously and blushing beet red. He chuckled and leaned back up to a normal sitting position. Still glancing over at me. I still can't find words to speak in the moment so it was silent while he continued to stare at me with gentle eyes. He takes my hand and holds it under his warm palm, rubbing gently with his thumbs. I look down at our hands and look back up to Hyunjin leaning in slowly.

Is he gonna kiss me?? Oh my god. Okay, stay calm.

He looks me in the eyes as he's leaning in and before he gets too close, I close my eyes and feel his soft cushiony lips touch mine. They bounced off mine like a pillow and felt extra warm against my skin. I felt my hands tremble under his and my whole body was overtaken by shivers as I sat with the sensation. The kiss practically made me melt and reduce to a puddle in his arms and my stomach felt like I was on an endless roller coaster drop. He lifts his hand and slides it in my hair behind my ears. He cups my jaw line and continues to lay soft kisses on my lips slowly to his pleasing.

I wish every second had lasted longer, but it ends all too soon. He pulls away and opens his eyes, looking directly at me. The big brown boba bead eyes had me the first time I saw them, but now they look like so much more to me. They feel like comfort, they feel like a warm cup of tea on a cold snowy day... I saw elegance and passion when he was speaking, but I saw love and happiness when he looked at me like he was right now.

He smiles and takes his hand from my face, putting it back into my hand. "Was that okay to do?"

I nod slowly, still processing what happened.

"What's wrong?" He asks.

"Nothing at all." I smile lightly and lean forward again to snag another round of kisses.

Hyunjin kisses me again and brings me closer to him this time, wrapping his arms around my waist and back with one arm and the other in my hair again. He was more animated with this one and was getting intense with his movements. He ran his hands along my back and shoulders as he explored my mouth with his tongue.

I suddenly hear footsteps shuffling down the hall way so I rapidly push Hyunjin off me and to the other side of the bed, leaving him in shock and speechless. I wipe my face and straighten my hair out as I see Han walk into the door way and stop when he sees us. He stares with a surprised pout and says nothing. I glance over at Hyunjin who made awkward eye contact with him and then at me.
