Waiting for Never

The next few days were filled with work and girl talks every night with Nadia. Hyunjin called me every morning and night like he said, I even got a call from Chan and managed to get on the same page about how he felt. We resolved any weird or awkward feelings between us and so did Seungmin and I. I never talked to Seungmin directly for an extended amount of time, but he called me and we put any tension behind us as well. Things were looking up. I hadn't even heard or seen anything from Ryan in like a week and then it became 2 weeks, 3 weeks and not a single peep. I think I had finally shaken him off my trail.

Three weeks I didn't see Hyunjin and I was going crazy. I kept telling Nadia every day how much I missed him and how I couldn't wait to get to Korea. The apartments had given me a call back and they had one unit left for a single person and they offered it to me, so I had accommodation taken care of too. It was all falling into place and my day to leave was approaching rapidly. One more week and I would be back with Hyunjin. I couldn't wait.

I sit with Nadia on the bed in my room, watching a K drama. I had gotten into them recently because of the drama, but also to help me with my Korean. I really had to get serious about learning it now that I was moving.

"Damn, dude. I can't believe you leave next week." She says throwing a handful of trail mix in her mouth.

"I know. It feels like just yesterday I moved in here."

"Seriously. We need to go out and celebrate before you leave! Hey, the bar I go to is having a Halloween night with a costume contest this weekend, let's go!" She says excitedly, accidentally spilling a few M&Ms on the bed, picking them back up and eating them.

I thought about us being in public and hanging out where every one could see my face, and that maybe Ryan was still in Australia, but I felt like I was just being overly cautious. She said it was a costume party so I didn't have to show my face, right?

"That actually sounds like fun. We should. I won't be here much longer and I wanna go party. I haven't gone to a bar in 5 years."

"Oh, yeah. We're definitely going then. What are you gonna dress up as?"

"Something that covers my face." I scoff and throw and cashew in my mouth.

"For sure...What about a BDSM bunny. That'd be hot. I have the stuff for it!"

"Y-...You do?" I look at her side ways. She laughs and covers her mouth almost choking on the trail mix.

"Not that stuff lol. I have like a few straps and some rope, a heart choker and a bunny mask. You would just need like a cat suit or something slutty like lingerie."

"Hmmm..." I had never actually dressed up like that before and I was feeling adventurous with this new found confidence. "Let's do it, but you have to do my make-up because I can't do much."

"I gotchu. We'll go full Hugh Hefner playboy bunny with a dark twist." She winks and gets up off the bed. "You want anything to drink? Like alcohol?"

"Nah, I'm alright. I could probably drink a lot right now and I don't want to feel shitty again." I say with a chuckle.

"No problemo. I'm gonna have a beer." She walks away to grab a beer and she takes a little longer than I expect, but when she comes back. She has a bouquet of flowers in her hand. "Dude! I think Jinnie sent you flowers!"

They were the biggest roses I had ever seen, more red than blood. It was a beautiful arrangement as well with little white flowers layered between every red rose and lush greens leaves surrounded them in a perfect heart. Pink and red tissue paper covered the bottom and cupped it perfectly.
