"I heard Ophelia and Dean got together, you know."
"So?"
"So," Adora said. "People do feel different things...for different people."
There was a pause. Catra frowned. "What are you saying here?"
"N-nothing! Nevermind-"
Catra kissed her. It was quick, and fast, and they both blushed by the end of it. Adora looked away abashed.
"Wow," she said. "Wow."
"We can't tell Shadow Weaver," Catra said. "About this. I shouldn't have done it."
"No," Adora said, and she took Catra's hand. "You should have done it sooner."
They kissed again, longer. When Adora pulled away, they were both red, but she didn't want to let go, so she just held into the embrace. Surprisingly, Catra let her.
It was nice.
Adora ran, trying to find any sign of Catra. She remembered now, she remembered her feelings and memories she couldn't fathom before. Fragments of memories she didn't even know she had surfaced, and it only made her push harder.
She had to find her.
"Adora, Catra, meet me in my room."
Adora and Catra both exchanged looks before following her into her room. Whenever they entered, they could smell the array of magic plants that hung off the walls and the ceilings. They were both careful not to touch anything, forfear of being poisoned or levitating or something.
Shadow Weaver stood in front, her frame enveloping them. Her stance was stern. "What is this?"
She pulled out a tablet with the two of them on the screen. They were talking, their bodies a little too close to each other. Then, they kissed, and Shadow Weaver turned the screen blank, throwing it onto her bed.
Adora and Catra found themselves backing up. "I-I can explain-" Adora said, but Shadow Weaver was already approaching them. Behind her, Catra froze.
"No need." Shadow Weaver approached, hand raised. She leaned down to lay a hand on Catra, but Adora blocked her, grasping her wrist before the blow came.
Shadow Weaver gasped. "Adora! What do you think you're doing?"
"It's my fault," Adora said. She suddeny felt so ashamed of what they did, of being caught, when obviously, it had to be wrong. She didn't understand why, but... "I provoked her, I wanted it. I...asked her to kiss me. Please don't punish her for my decision. She was just doing what I asked."
"She shouldn't have listened," Shadow Weaver said. "You are the most talented soldier I've met, Adora. Why are you wasting your time with romance, especially on someone so unworthy?"
"I wanted to." Adora looked at her hands. "I wanted her. Please don't hurt her, it won't happen again."
Shadow Weaver caressed her face. Finally, Adora drew back, relieved it was over. Even if it meant not being with Catra, at least she had saved her from-
"What are you doing?!"
Shadow Weaver pressed her hands together, and Catra suddenly radiated red energy. She dropped, writhing in pain.
"Stop." Adora crouched beside her, but Catra didn't seem to register her presence. "I said I was sorry."
"Someone has to be punished," Shadow Weaver said. "Thanks to you, she will not be thrown out of the Hoard. Think of this as a blessing."
