It was now morning as I sat on a tree stump surrounded by my people. I could feel the tension and distrust between the two groups. Obviously, the Goblins held a grudge against the Direwolves. And the Direwolves were just waiting for me to start talking.
The temperature was warm but not too hot so it wasn't summer.
Me: ("Hey Raphael what is the season and day?")
Raphael: ("Notice! The Cardinal World does not use any calendars that were used in your world. But if we were to transfer it to the Gregorian Calendar, then it would be May 7th.")
Me: ("Wait seriously?! We just started July back when I died. So time doesn't exactly sink up between worlds, because I don't think I've been here over a year yet.")
I shake my head dismissing the thought, as I took notice of another problem.
Me: (The number has almost doubled, and we still need our survival basics to be fixed. Clothing is crap, from the looks of the Goblins food is also an issue, and don't get me started on the housing. On top of that, I need to find somewhere to place the Direwolves. First things first I need to get them to stop seeing each other as enemies while establishing rules.) "Ok! Everyone pay attention we are going to begin. I know that yesterday was something, and I know many people are still reeling from this huge change. But the past is the past, I know that the bad blood isn't gonna change easily but I need you to try. If we want our village to function we need to act as one, yesterday we were enemies but today we are allies. Both Goblins and Direwolves now serve under me, so I expect you to get along. Chances are we will face problems in the future, so we need to be able to act as one group to fight. So please forgive each other and accept each other. All of you are now my subjects so rise above petty arguments, that being said I can't just expect everyone to forget especially the Goblins. So I'm begging you not to forget but move on."
I see the words process through their minds as the Direwolves and Goblins look too each other and smile.
Me: "Wonderful, now our living situation is a bit tight at the moment. And separate the two races are very limited while excelling in the other's weaknesses. So I want you all to pair up with each other, and help your partner with whatever they need."
Goblins: "Pair..."
Direwolves: "...up?"
Me: "What's the matter?" I asked not sure why they seemed confused.
Elder: "We're not sure what you mean by the term "pair up," Lord (Y/N)."
Me: "A pair is a group of two, for example, two Goblins are referred to as a pair of Goblins. So what I mean is a Direwolf and a Goblin will form a group. This solves the housing arrangements for the Direwolves, but will also help the two groups unify. On top of that as I said you will cover each other's weaknesses. For example, Direwolves are fast and better hunters, but they can't climb or grab things. But a pair made up of a Goblin and Direwolf will be able to do both allowing better hunting and fighting."
Elder: "What a wonderful plan my lord. Your thinking is clearly on another level."
Me: "I know." I say smirking.
Raphael: ("Notice! Ego.")
Me: ("Heh?! What did you say?!")
Raphael: ("Notice! Nothing it was your imagination.")
I internally growled at her knowing I wasn't gonna win this.
Me: "Alright, I expect you all to work together and get along. No fighting between any of you, any issues will be brought to me if they can't be solved. Now let's talk about three necessities that we need food, shelter, and clothes. Form small teams some that are better at tracking and fighting will hunt, and better climbers or more agile wolves will gather any crops or plants that can be consumed. Lastly the more physically strong should start working on new houses. Because six buildings made out of sticks and leaves won't cut it. On top of that, we need an actual wall built, we can't keep relying on my skill for defense. Ok now to lead these teams, let's start with... do any of you have names? I just realized that I was never told if any of you have names."
