Sweet Like You

Kokichi is planning to come over to my house to hang out later. He comes over quite frequently to play video games with me, but today I want to do something a bit different: baking! I know he loves sweet things like Panta, so this could be enjoyable for him.

I pace in anticipation, making sure I have everything I need. Suddenly, I hear a ring at the doorbell. I rush to the door and am greeted with Kokichi's cute, smiling face when I open it.

"Hi!" I exclaim, clearly not containing my excitement.

"Hiya!" He replies, matching my energy. I opened the door and let him in. He got right to the point and said, "I'm totally beating you in Mario Kart this time!"

"Well, I actually want to do something else today."

"Oh? And what might that be?" He says with a curious look. "It better be worth the Supreme Leader's time!"

"We're going to bake some cookies!" I say, a bit nervous about suggesting this suddenly.

"Really? Like real, actual, cookies?"
"Yeah, those ones," I say, not able to tell if he liked the idea or not.

"I'd love to bake some!" He continues. "What kind?"

"Well let's start with something simple. How about chocolate chip?"

"Okay, let's do it!" He exclaims.

I'm very relieved to hear he's interested in this. I begin to take out the ingredients, bowls, and other tools that we'll be using. Kokichi follows me around and smiles as I do this. Soon, we work together, measuring and adding in the necessary ingredients. When it's time to mix the dry and wet ingredients together, Kokichi helps me hold the bowl while I do the mixing. I slightly blush as our hands touch while doing this. I glance over at Kokichi. He's staring intently at the dough, clearly wanting a taste.

"Not yet, Kokichi. Don't you want me to put in the chocolate chips first?"

"Fiiinee. You're right. But it looks and smells so good. Can I please have a little taste?" He begs.

"Soon. Just have a little patience!" I scold, secretly enjoying his whining.

Once the mixing is done, I open a bag of chocolate chips and pour most of it in. As I do this, Kokichi steals some of the chips and eats them.

"Hey, no fair!" I say, joining in soon after. We munch on some of the chips before mixing them into the dough. Once we're done, we form clumps of dough onto a pan.

I look over at Kokichi. He hasn't said much, but he's now happily enjoying licking the dough stuck to the mixing spoon. I smile and put the pan into the oven.

"How was that?" I ask.

"This tastes amazing," Kokichi said, clearly absorbed in the taste of the cookie dough.

"I'm glad," I smile. This has gone much better than I expected.

Soon, the cookies are done baking, and I take them out of the oven.

"Don't touch them, they're still really hot," I say to Kokichi. He continues to poke at the cookies until he burns himself.

"Ow!" He gasps and puts his finger in his mouth.

"I warned you!" I sigh and hold out my hand. He sticks his finger out and I look at the area he burnt. "You'll be okay," I say. "Just wait a little bit longer."

"But they smell so gooood," he whines.

"I know, they really do," I admit.

"Let's play a game of Mario Kart while we wait!" He suggests excitedly.

"Alright, but I'm not going to go easy on you!"

I beat Kokichi in the single race of Mario Kart we played, but he didn't seem to care, because as soon as it finished, he leaped off of the couch and raced over to the cookies, acting like he had never had one in his life. He grabbed a cookie and took a bite out of it.

"How is it?" I ask, taking out a paper plate and grabbing one of my own.

"It's sweet, like you!" Kokichi says while chewing.

I blush at this comment. He teases a lot, but flirtatious lines like that always get me. "More like you," I say quietly. He wasn't listening because he was already enjoying his second cookie. I smile, taking in his cute childishness. Kokichi was right though, the cookie was sweet.
